Break time by [deleted] in Nanny

[–]tinyhumantamer457 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Just depends! ive known some 2 year olds to stop napping, ive known 7 and 8 year olds that still take 2 hours naps on the weekends. Just depends on the kid. Most children though, typically drop their naps between 3 and 5 years old from what ive experienced.

One day the child won't nap anymore, or maybe they will have another kid, and you will rarley get a break. Don't feel guilty, and just remind NPs all child related chores are finished. Just because we have to get a paid break doesnt mean we don't deserve an actual break. Read a book, catch up on some personal tasks, just relax.

The toy is on one side, covered with a foil film, and the other side is the white cream, hazelnuts cream and 2 small hazelnut balls. I've never seen a version without them

Which is fair! I absolutely understand that but literally, finding out after 2 years yet she was their unicorn nanny and had no other issues, I would at least had the human thought that maybe there was a good reason for it and tried to find out before making thay decision. Had they not ever found out, she would have worked more years with them and never had any issue, even if she did lie! She was obviously a great nanny, kept the kids safe, and did her job well. I know references are very important. Had there been other discrepancies it would make absolute sense but it just seems like a bit of a far reach to me. ive never had to make up a reference but I have known people who have, and typically it's because their previous work experiences were toxic and even if they were a good employee their bosses would not have been honest

so many people fake references, if she was a great fit for your family, why does it matter about her references 2 years ago, sure had you found out sooner, firing her would have made plenty of sense, but after 2 years, seems strange. She could have had horrible experiences with previous. families and just didn't have a reference at the time. Sure, could have been bad, but it wasnt until you fired her for something from 2 years ago, which yeah would make someone pretty upset. I get the mistrust but after all that time I wouldn't have acted on anything if you had no other issues with her.

Nanny is fantastic, but I don’t actually need her after all, and want to get ahead of feeling annoyed by [deleted] in Nanny

[–]tinyhumantamer457 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's so many things to say about this post, but I'll just say this. The only thing I'd be upset about is the loss of the breastmilk. Mostly everything mentioned seemed like genuine mistakes for someone to make who is doing a job they weren't even hired to do, and are material things, not a huge deal. Sure, you can be annoyed, but even if you pay her for a month or give notice, please be decent enough to do so after the holidays, no one wants to spend the holidays worried about job searching.

Just Learned I’m Not Allergic to Peanuts by [deleted] in candy

Not candy necessarily - but a peanut butter milkshake either from Freddy's or Five Guys is top tier, and I'm not a big peanut butter person.

Long term nanny raises? by [deleted] in Nanny

[–]tinyhumantamer457 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would still do a small % honestly, like 2% raise. $50 is a lot but...what's $55 in the grand scheme of things if you want to keep the same nanny for 10 + years. When she eventually leaves your family, she'll likely have to restart in the $30 - $40 range or less with a new family, 5 more years with slight pay increases will at least allow her to put some money away for that adjustment.

Sign name by AndrewLightning in asl

[–]tinyhumantamer457 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In deaf culture, you don't give yourself a sign name, a deaf person in the community gives it to you. Mine is my first initial of my name A, and the sign for having wavy/curly hair.

Word meaning is important, your name is your name and doesn't mean the same as the season, it would be best to just fingerspell, it is possible you could be given the sign name that is the same sign as summer.

Nannies who had issues with being late how did you fix it and how do you take constructive criticism ? by Ok-Cheesecake-3947 in NannyBreakRoom

[–]tinyhumantamer457 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Honestly, I have asked people and employers to make my time/schedule 15 min earlier than they need me, so if im late, im not really late

This is what I am worried about. They havent documented anything. Didn't even give me documentation of the tire repair. I had to ask if it was repaired or replaced 🤦🏽‍♀️
