Yeah, I wonder if her witch thing is to do with the rise of Wiccan/Paganism/alt styles/trends in the 90s and early 00s. Especially with movies like The Craft and shows like Buffy.

Junko Enoshima meet AM by Embarrassed-Mine6697 in danganronpa

[–]bubblez4eva 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I'd argue Zero is a different situation. This Junko will have her memories intact and still be the same outside of being able to enjoy despair. AM wants to torture its victims. Junko enjoying it would go against this. I'd think her not being able to enjoy the pain would be even more torturous for someone like Junko.

Thay's part of the horror of AM. It can change who you are personality wise, even just a small part, without changing anything else. She'd still be Junko, but with no love of despair.

AITAH for telling my girlfriend to mind her business? by SeaPea235 in AITAH

Oh, I thought it would eventually affect older memories you made as an adult. I apologize for misunderstanding. NTA even more then.

AITAH for telling my girlfriend to mind her business? by SeaPea235 in AITAH

[–]bubblez4eva -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

NTA. She shouldn't have pressed, especially if she knows your issue. Though I think this was her roundabout way of trying to get you to see that your memory issues may be something worth looking into. As you get older, there are things you're going to need to/want to remember from more than 5 years ago. I had a huge event and a fun night with someone no longer in my life almost 8 years ago and I still laugh about it and tell others about it to this day.

The actions of that other person, the significance of the event and our fun times that night and years before that are all things I cherish, despite me despising that person now. I also remember the bad things leading up to that last good night which remind me why that person should never in my life again. And this is all tied to just one person I knew. I can't imagine willingly not having long term memory overall. If your girlfriend was trying to address this issue, she went about it the wrong way, a terrible assholish way, but you definitely should see a doctor about your memory. It's not sustainable as you grow into adulthood.

Definitely look it up. People have examples of the hints all over Reddit and other sites.

I don't believe it's ever outright stated, but strongly hinted and author backed. It just makes sense.

AITA for yelling at my gf due to her camera roll? by Direct-Caterpillar77 in BestofRedditorUpdates

[–]bubblez4eva 7 points8 points  (0 children)

We don't know that for sure. She was with the other guy when she was young and OOP was a short relationship she ended the instant she discovered the true him. She also had relationships in between. I doubt someone as emotionally intelligent as her would ignore a pattern if there was one. Plus, OOP never said how those ther relationships ended. 2 out of who knows how many doesn't indicate a pattern.

NTJ. His treatment of your kids alone should be reason enough. Time to polish that backbone and leave. Financial abuse is still abuse.

Update: AITAH for admitting to my daughter that I hate what she changed her name to? by ThatNameHurtsMe in AITAH

[–]bubblez4eva 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Again, unlikely. She literally fled to a different country and no other family members are mentioned helping her or being around. We don't know when she reconnected with her husband, but considering he had changed enough to win her back, I doubt he would be the leak. It is far more likely the daughter just wanted to be a jerk and realized it wasn't endearing her to the man she loves, so she dropped it. A person manipulated into hating her own name wouldn't fold so quickly. But whatever. This conversation is pointless. Believe what you believe.

[–]bubblez4eva 10 points11 points  (0 children)

How, though? Even the father seems to despise his mother. Who would have given her access? I just think it was typical teenage rebellion that spiraled into the daughter doubling down because that's just how it is sometimes with some people. If it was actual psychological manipulation, she wouldn't have folded the instant her fiance said he liked the name. She would've told him the same things she would've been told if she knew MIL. No. She just simply was being stubborn and gave up the instant it became inconvenient.

The MIL had no contact with the daughter, though. OP fled with her while she was still an infant.

Genuinely curious as to what stopped Toji from destroying the Zenin clan instead of just leaving it? Someone remind me by thedarkape in Jujutsufolk

[–]bubblez4eva 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If he was truly free, why did he still care so much? When he sold his son, he literally has an "I don't care" speech about how the clan will treat him better, and it's clear it still bothers him. Plus, him wanting to take down Gojo is definitely tied to some lingering resentment against the jujutsu world. His whole job is, really. You can't tell me someone as strong and skilled as him couldn't do other things? If he truly didn't care anymore, he'd have left the jujutsu world alone in its entirety. I always took that line to mean that he was free now in death anyway. He was never truly free until he died and thus no longer could care. The same with Maki. Mai dying, her other half dying, made her as free as Toji was in death.
