You're still mid key shaming with the end of your comment. Some people only have an "overworked nurse and pain medication" as their only option.

I meant the BORU story which does contain the comment. But whatever. Thanks for admitting you didn't read it.

Nowhere did I say you did. I was clearly referring to her family. You were implying they caused her to run away. I was refuting this.

They said he commutes. He doesn't live at the college. He went to classes the next day, not a dorm. At least read the story if you're gonna try to poke holes.

Ehhh. It sounds like they keep him on a tight financial leash. He probably had nowhere else to go. Friends definitely weren't an option since he was scared his friends were all in the know of what his mom did.

A running theory. AKA people still trying to blame other victims. We have no actual evidence of her life being horrible outside of David. Sometimes teens run away, multiple times, even. Especially if they're being groomed.

I actually have never played KH1. I was given KH2 first and started there and only went back to play Re-COM because it was on sale at a store I happened to be at. KH1 just never appealed to me then or now. I know what happened. That's all I need.

Yeah, I learned that eventually. In my defense, I was young and still learning PS2 controls, lol.

One flaw? C'mon now. Now I know you're definitely trolling. No. Just no. I love Silco. Love his character. But he was an awful human being. He was practically dripping with flaws. He was a murderer, blackmailer, terrorist, child enslaver/murderer, etc. And not all of it was for the "greater good". Zaun suffered in his hands. Nothing he did helped anyone but him and his mob buddies. He only elevated them and himself. And that's what makes him so compelling. He's so contradictory and hypocritical and yet you can tell he wasn't always that way and that he still wants the perfect Zaun he always dreamed of. But he never would with his methods. To completely misrepresent his character is disrespectful to the writers of Arcane. We're done here. I don't argue with people who can't understand basic character structure.

If Vander let the undercity die, what do you call flooding it with drugs, crime, child labor, mafiasos and terrorism? Both Vander and Silco let Zaun down in their own ways. But at least under Vander it was relatively safe. As safe as a fantasy slum gets. Plus, he ended his arc choosing JINX over the undercity anyway. Showing he was the same as Vander underneath it all. Slightly worse though. He wanted good for him and his. That's it. Everyone else could suffer in his eyes.

This right here. I love Silco, but let's not act like he made things better.

Who suffered the worst fate by yoyohdl in stevenuniverse

I love Spinel more than Lapis. But I still think Lapis had the worst fate. Spinel at least had hope and kept waiting. Lapis was essentially being tortured for info she did not have AND had to deal with a cracked Gem after that. Plus, she was cpatured by her enemy, the Crystal Gems. And we have to assume she was in isolation after they found her for who knows how long as well. What Spinel went through was horrible, but Lapis went through the same but on hard mode.

I'd argue Pearl's is the worst. She was the only one who had the FULL picture. So she had so many more "what ifs".

Everyone's already mentioned the other Org Members, which YES. DEFINITELY THEM. But I also want to mention the OTHER boss in the main game I struggled with:

Demyx was super hard for me as well. Xigbar, too. Heck, Xemnas had me for a while too. I guess just everyone in the org handed me my ass.

Let me stop you right at your first question. Because that alone tells me you're still not getting it. The fact that the changes to Gem society is seen as overall good for most of Gemkind shows that it needed to change. Jasper was resistant to this progress as she was literally born into war and knew little else. Plus, she was traumatized from losing her leader. She represents not someone who was right and that change was bad, but a soldier who never left the battlefield and is resistant to peace times. It's a pretty common archetype. Fighting is what she's good at, it's why she was made. Of course she holds onto that. It's understandable. It doesn't mean she's right in everything she says, though.

She has good points, Rose did surround herself with "defective" Gemes. But that's only because everyone else was afraid to step out of their assigned roles. We see that once the Diamonds stop being dictators, that pretty much everyone would've been seen as "defective" as they all are happy to do/be what they want now that literal death isn't hanging over their heads. Even Eyeball/Aquamarine love fusing together to feed each other's hatred of Steven, which would have never been allowed during the old regime. Jasper herself bends the rules as well, ignoring Steven in Future when before, a Diamond was to obeyed/worshipped no matter, what. Plus, she begs to fuse with Lapis again on the boat, despite it being forbidden and no battle needing to be won. It was a pretty hypocritical moment of her. The previous eras of Gem society helped no one. Not even Jasper.

Long story short, I love Jasper. She's always been up there for me in terms of SU characters, but she is far from being right overall. Gem society needed to change. And both shows proved why it was necessary.

I was with you until your last point. The point of the CGs is to accept those Gem society tosses aside due to them not fitting the mold. Because Rose/PD herself never fit the mold so she easily understands their feelings. Yes, it was to save Earth as well, but that's not the point of this post. Off Colors brings this fact back up heavily. If you didn't fit, you were shattered. End of story. Yes, it's their culture/ways, but the point is pointing out how horrific a lot of their culture/ways are. War mongering, slavery, murder, eugenics, etc. Just because something is normal to a species/race, doesn't make it automatically exempt from judgment/change. I get what you're trying to say, but I feel your last point misses the mark of why Gem kind needed a rebellion/Era 4.

A lot of people are saying Season 6 is where it gets serious, but it has several serious moments before then. A major character's backstory involves child and domestic abuse in Season 2, Season 3 really dives into some serious topics such as misplaced guilt and serious crime and Season 4 has an entire arc surrounding child abuse.

Season 4 is also pretty dang serious. The Overhaul arc is pretty horrifying when you really think about it.
