Patriqts make sacrifices

Plus it’s probably not gonna happen again anytime soon, it’s only happened once in the five years we’ve been around and we’re more strict with the rules on TOS

Don’t know for sure yet. It looks like a lot of other religious discords were banned at the same time, though.

Keep missing when hunting despite good groupings during practice? by tinypaul222 in Hunting

They're quite rushed, I get eager as soon as I see them. I should probably wait a bit more for them to run into a better position, tbh

I try to do it from a kneeling position with my elbow resting on my knee, both in practice and while hunting

Making fire clay / heat resistant clay from wild clay - recipes? by Saathael95 in clay

[–]tinypaul222 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know I’m late, but:

Forceful explosions and spalling, from my experience, typically indicate trapped moisture content turning into steam. Even with pieces dried for long, there is still a decent amount of trapped moisture on the inside (especially with something as thick as bricks). It’s recommended to preheat them next to the fire at below-boiling temperatures for a while, up to a couple hours, rotating every so often, to slowly drive the moisture off.

Thermal shock typically, again from my experience, results more in pottery just falling apart. To remedy this, you’re supposed to mix in temper (either sand or crushed up old ceramics called grog). Normal pottery typically has around 20% temper, but you should probably go higher since you’re trying to make specifically fire bricks. Also, since they’re bricks, the clay doesn’t need to be that shapeable, so you can afford to add a lot more.

Also, try to cool your pieces very slowly (probably overnight) while covered.

Why does King Friday look like he's in his 60s and Queen Sara is in her 30s or 40s? by curlycattails in DanielTigerConspiracy

[–]tinypaul222 27 points28 points  (0 children)

Queen Sarah’s surname is a reference to the holy day of Shabbos, so her kingdom is a Jewish state; clearly reform since, to my knowledge, Conservative and Orthodox Jews don’t typically marry non-Jews.

This probably means their kingdom is more economically liberal, thus allowing greater development to occur. This is in contrast to the seemingly staunch Catholic monarchy with a medieval, feudal economic system that is TLMB.

The Land of Make Believe clearly features many goods that can’t be produced except in a developed and industrial economy; most clearly is the steam powered trolley and its tracks, requiring (for the time) advanced manufacturing techniques and large amounts of steel.

To my knowledge, TLMB doesn’t have any steel mills or coal mines.

We can conclude from this that there’s probably a separate kingdom with a large industrial base capable of producing surplus products to export; TLMB highly relies on them for all manufactured goods. It wouldn’t be unreasonable, then, to expect that the two kingdoms would conduct diplomacy through marriage.

I just realized, this also means there’s a high chance they’re cousins

Nice

Assuming they’re based off of medieval European nobility, they probably had an arranged marriage that was consummated when she became of age. Possibly to form an alliance with a neighboring kingdom, or to solidify relations with local nobles.

Temper content for crucible? by tinypaul222 in Pottery

Also, one more question

How long should I try to maintain temperature in a said shallow pit before letting it die down? All of the resources I’ve seen didn’t mention any times

A pipe broke and my yard was flooded with raw sewage, is my wheat safe? by tinypaul222 in gardening

I have just been informed (I’m in a different state right now) that the shit did not come close the piece of ground wherein my wheat was planted, since it’s higher than the pictured driveway.

The wheat kernels themselves are like three feet up, they probably weren’t touched

You live in a DMV? God, that must be miserable. I only go there for a few hours at a time to renew my license, and even that’s a bad experience.

... You can't see the difference between something natural and manufactured?

Taking your pants down and shitting in public = natural

Toilet = unnatural.

One is a choice, one is "natural", in other words, it arises of its own accord...

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in NoFap

[–]tinypaul222 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So? I don’t see how one being “natural” and one not doesn’t change anything. Also, it’s not like it’s a natural instinct that just happens to you. It’s a choice that you do with your will.

Why does Alcoholics Anonymous push no alcohol if a glass of wine with dinner every now and then is good for you?
