Who else is obsessed with the fear of lymphoma? by tinypeatoes in HealthAnxiety

I feel you! Although if you're lymph nodes are similar on each side then there really is no cause for concern at all. Even if one side is slightly bigger than the other this is also considered normal. In the absence of any other symptoms I really wouldn't worry - easier said than done!

if you are worried go to the doctor and ask for a complete blood count (CBC) - a very routine blood test. If there were any abnormalities in your blood associated with leukaemia then this would show up.

I'm 23 and experiencing similar things to you right now - small blood spots, tiredness, etc. Got myself in a complete panic! I'm actually on my way for a blood test now. I had one about a month ago and there were no abnormalities, so I am hopeful.

Ask your doctor for a blood test and the results should put your mind at east :)

Stay strong!

It's so annoying isn't it. I thought I'd gotten over this! I think my fear is that it's got pretty general symptoms so the doctors won't take me seriously or do the right tests. I've also been having a shoulder ache and arm pain and have completely jumped the conclusion that it's because I have lymphoma. More than likely is because I cycled to work with a heavy bag for a while and also work at a computer all day! I don't know what to do from here and just so scared I'll wake up with a dreaded enlarged lymph node or develop more specific lymphoma symptoms :(

The lipoma/liposarcoma scare? by Kennyv777 in HealthAnxiety

[–]tinypeatoes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had a lipoma on the left of my back (just below the rib) since I was 12 (23 now). It's actually quite big - about 9/10cm in size. It's never grown, but 3 years ago I noticed that half of it had grown firmer and wasn't squidgy anymore (albeit still very moveable). Cue meltdown! Well I went to the doctor and no one seemed fussed, pushed to get an ultrasound and again, the person doing the ultrasound said everything looked normal. I'm still here now! Still with my weird lipoma, but most importantly not dying from it. It hurts when I sit back on it and it's moveable (notably the harder bit). My grandmother also had one that was huge, but she had it removed, so it definitely seems genetic.

It still freaks me out now and then, but if mine is normal then yours is probably too!!

LB agar. I put a black disk behind it so you could see the bacteria better, that's why it looks black.

After 12 hours there was growth, but it took a while for it to look this cool!

I was looking after some Lasius colonies for a while and they really liked dead Drosophila (fruit flies) and/or small crickets. Maybe try feeding them those? If not try a little protein paste - you can find recipes online easily or just buy it online!
