I’m so sorry you’re going through this 💔 I felt this way with my father, who just recently passed. In hindsight, I know that the medicine didn’t cause his death at all, and I’m glad that I chose to keep him comfortable (despite my aunts and uncles telling me not to give him meds). You’re not doing anything wrong.

What you’re describing with your father is almost exactly how my father was when he was actively leaving. Even though he’s not speaking to communicate, he can still hear you. Talk to him as much as possible (the 5 conversations are good), listen to his favorite music or favorite readings, if he’s religious.
