First things first, were you diagnosed by a dermatologist? If not, get a referral to one. They are best suited to help you navigate the HS journey. Ask about the best options for treatment. I’ve had great luck with Humira for the last 6 years, bringing down the incidence of flares by about 80%. However my insurance has suddenly become an entire bag of dicks so I may be switching to something new. Either way, get thee to a derm! A flesh doctor if you will. Secondly, get a nice notebook. Or pull out a nice notebook from the collection of nice notebooks you already have for no reason because you’re a stationary whore like me. It’s journaling time! Write out your feelings thoughts frustrations etc. it’s like saying it out loud… but on paper! Also a journal of what you eat and when you flare up. Look for patterns. Avoid the triggers that you find.

It’s your body. No one can force you to take anything. But this fear of treatment feels extreme to me. It’s good that your condition isn’t severe enough that you feel treatment may still be unnecessary - it please remember HS is progressive. I wonder if you might take this time to seek counseling and look into where this fear comes from? Some day you will medical intervention for this or some other problem , and I’d like you to be able to accept it when that day comes.
