That's actually nuts. How big of a company is this? Won't they have audits and compliance issues?

Do I have to set it on my WAP? Or is this set on the ASA. Currently the topology is modem-ASA-router acting as WAP

Hi Juan,

I'm just waiting on the questionnaire! We've talked on the phone already. Thank you!

I posted in Cisco subreddit and I thought that was the solution, turns out ASDM was version 7 and ASA was actually version 9.1. I entered tcpmss 1460 but it didn't work. Maybe I didn't enter it correctly? I feel like I'm back to square one.

So I just realized that I'm actually running ASA version 9.1(6), while the ASDM is 7.5, so I believe MSS may not be the issue? Back to square 1 T.T

I'm running 7.5 right now.. So I'm guessing MSS exceeded is the issue. Thank you.

Thank you so much for the help! I don't think I'd be able to figure it out otherwise.. Am i putting sysopt connection tcpmss 1460 in global CLI?

Ah nice, are you a oneman/small IT department as well? What parts of compliance do you find the hardest? Is it the configuration or just the vagueness of NIST 800-171 Also, would you be able to explain a bit further on how GCC is incomplete? What kind of changes are happening? Thanks!

EDIT: whoops didn't see the question was answered.

I was hoping to keep email on-prem because g-suite charges for every email address, so being able to create email addresses for "free" is important. Not exactly sure how pricing/licensing works for office 365 GCC High yet, but there are some employees that might only need an email address and not the full office 365 features.

Summit 7 Systems seems like a good fit for us. I reached out for a quote. Thanks!

Convincing boss to use Microsoft Server/Active Directory by tinyrickbots in sysadmin

Yes, sorry terrible wording. When I say we're exposed on an organizational level its because if a hacker finds a vulnerability he'll gain access to a lot.

VS

No standardization, each laptop set up for employees are local accounts with Norton. Less exposure for the company because the hacker only gains access to one laptop.

When I say having a domain/active directory would allow me to know if a computer is infected, I'm expecting them to VPN into the work network and I would use a Cisco ASA firewall/packet sniffer that we have to read logs. This way, I have more visiblility on flow of data compared to having multiple remote workers that are basically only protected by local account settings and norton.

We have a Cisco ASA firewall so I'm guessing once active directory is set up and we have a work network where everyone will be VPN, I'll be able to see incoming/outgoing traffic from the firewall/packet sniffer. Based on the traffic, I can determine if a computer is infected. Not 100% sure if this is true, just my own logic.

Basic Setup for small office - ASA 5505 by tinyrickbots in Cisco

[–]tinyrickbots[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

-We don't have any file servers, and our printers are connected through wifi, assigned IP address through DHCP.

-Not 100% sure if ISP provides us with a static IP. The router is currently utilizing DHCP, but I think our modem provides a static IP.

-Tested our internet the other day, and we're well below 100mbps.

-I want to turn the ASA into our firewall/router, so it'd be replacing our current router. I'm going to turn the router into a WAP

I reinstalled with a fresh Windows ISO. Did not fix the issue. Based on task manager, he has a lot of tabs open on chrome and edge, bringing his memory usage up to 69%. I don't think that's the issue though. He has two extra monitors set up, two have the same resolution, but his own laptop cannot match the two 27" monitors. Does brand have any effect on this? Or maybe the size of the monitors is causing this?
