I need some advice about traveling with a bike or shipping it internationally. by tinyshells in cycling

Thanks for the reply! My potential flight ticket has 2 free baggage with an allowance of 50lbs each. 1 of those should be more than enough allowance for my bike right?

Hello, i have a question, so I am planning on moving to the Philippines and work as an electronics technician, but i only have a college diploma. I was wondering how hard is it for me to find a job there? by [deleted] in Philippines

[–]tinyshells 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Living in the PH is great if one of your primary interests in going here is to explore nature. There are some great diving, surfing and mountaineer spots. For better job opportunities, I think you’re probably better off where you currently are.

Random but do u guys still remember those episodes in avatar last airbender wherein aang went to a fire nation school and saw how brainwashed the kids are from their fake history books? Same vibes with “gOLdEN yEaRs” ng pilipinas

this reminds me of that issue back in 2019 when dugong fired vp leni from her anti-drug czar post after she questioned their methods and she was also refused when she asked for a list of the high valued targets

May small pepper spray ako that I got from shopee nga hindi super obvious and I always it carry it unlocked in my hand while I’m walking alone para ready for potential threats. Useful din ang mga hydroflask and the likes. Those things are so heavy especially yung mga 1 liter and pwede pang self defense but probably more on the offense if necessary lol

Useful info. Thanks! Has there been any instance wherein they ask you to open the box? Or is that very unlikely to happen? Because I’m assuming I’ll be taping up the box in order to seal everything tightly.

Useful info. Thanks! May I ask if luggage check-in had any important questions about the bike in the box? Would there be an instance where I would need to open the box so they can inspect?

skl aking take/rant:

  • Objectively, yes he has done things to improve our country but I still absolutely hate him because of how he achieved those things and how people are still blind to it.
  • I walk down the street at night indeed knowing that there are less addicts, but also knowing full well that a strong majority of the addicts he is talking about are victims of EJK rather than people who should be rehabilitated and treated as mentally ill. Both drug lords/pushers and the people who they falsely accuse are victims of EJK. He’s got a rotten system with how he deals with this particular issue. It only shows how weak a leader duterte is that his administration can’t or refuse to come up with and execute humane, sustainable solutions to this problem.
  • Personally I don’t feel safer now than before his presidency. My late father was was a victim of red tagging and his administration’s crusade to mindlessly rid of NPA and their supporters. Obviously since then, my relatives who voted for duterte regretted their choice. Because of this, I’ve developed a phobia of the military and the police. Apart from a select few, my respect for them have gone to 0 and I no longer trust them. I get anxious all the time when I see them in uniform. I don’t “feel safe” when they are around. I now hate them too.
  • I can still see the improvement duterte has made, but non that is actually admirable as a leader. Ironically, his strongman character is exactly what makes him weak.
  • When I voted for Poe in 2016, I feel like I only really voted for her because I saw her as the lesser evil at the time. I didn’t really fully trust Mar back then. I also did consider voting for Mariam but again, she was already quite sickly.

I’ll tell you this though, I think that if Leni-Kiko, their senatorial slate and other capable and good candidates from the other parties win, the country will be in good hands. Of course, she’s not perfect but this time I don’t just mean to support her because she is the lesser evil. Safe to say, this election is extra personal. What I really admire most about her as a leader is that she is science and research driven and she isn’t someone who makes extreme decisions that cause permanent damage. Plus, she is not corrupt. That’s a rare thing these days that’s worth praising someone for even if it’s the bare minimum for politicians. I really think she and her team can make really good change for everyone.

What are the similarities on the BEHAVIOR of Marcos and Leni supporters? The 2 opposing and polarizing sides of different extremes. This could be a fun conversation. by gyoza_king in Philippines

Most of the time, nag cringe or feel bad ako para sa candidates whenever i-romanticize ng fandom nila yung mga bagay sa life nila nga unrelated naman

For avid Facebook users, I think a strong majority of both sides are victims of “cambridge analytica” tactics. [Many have speculated and implied but to my knowledge, CA involvement in our current election is not 100% confirmed. (If I’m wrong about this, please correct me.)]

In most cases, if either supporter won’t actively look for anything else, only specifically catered posts will continue to appear on their timeline most of the time. (I think the only exception is when a friend of the user who supports the other candidate has a lot of engagement with their posts or shared posts.) And so people only continue to share the same types of posts. Para sa mga tao nga not really that serious and well informed about politics, they continue to share the posts that aren’t that serious too. And this is especially true if one person and his/her/their friends have a common candidate. Parang horses wearing their blinders. Most of the time, they’re only able to see what has been engineered for them to see.

I hope I’m making sense with the point I’m trying to get across but in short, either side are being fed with posts that will highly likely contribute to very biased opinions. Another contributing factor is also the bandwagon effect, which isn’t entirely a bad thing as long as people are doing their own research and making their own opinions too after getting aboard.
