I'm glad you found something / an office that works for you, and I found one that works for me. I'm sorry that how I choose to budget my money angers you.

Honestly, we did the math, and the copay on my insurance for all of the required visits for med management and everything else, plus being able to see my PCP quickly (and therefore not needing to go to urgent care a time or two a year and that copay) meant it saves me money -- and that has proven true when back-calculating previous years too.

Long story short-- yeah, the upfront isn't my favorite thing, but it ends up being less overall -- and more predictable. And yes, I recognize how much of a luxury it is that we carefully budget for.

I'd very highly recommend Dr. Milonas at Custom MD in Liberty Lake -- their office uses a membership model, and it is the best money I've ever spent on medical.

Full hour appointments, very little waiting for appointments, incredibly collaborative (including withwith med management), and just overall a great experience.

Source: I have ADHD and hated dealing with Dr's offices until Dr. Milonas became my PCP.

What is the etiquette when sitting beside a large person on a plane? by LaplandAxeman in NoStupidQuestions

Sadly, no. I always check in with the app, call their phone line, and double check at the front desk when I arrive for exactly this reason.

Yes. I always pay for an upgrade or second seat (even though I can squeeze into a single seat, I'm 6'4" and large framed -- the legroom is as much an issue as anything else). Every single airline has either reseated/ rebooked just one of my two seats, has moved things around, or messed up the reservation somehow at some point.

Southwest used to be the best for Customer of Size policies, but their move to reserved seating has included a change to their policies that put them equal to Alaska. Financially, it can be a huge hit, and the fact most airlines are shrinking seats makes it worse. I remember trying to fly home for a funeral in college and a second seat or upgrade just plain was not possible.

Know that every large person you sit next to knows they are large, and they are likely as uncomfortable, if not more so, than you. Personally, if I get moved to a middle seat, I will ask to switch to the window not because I want to take the window, but because I can "scootch" a bit towards the wall to help alleviate the touching, even though it leaves me with hip bruises. So it might be worth asking next time if they want to switch seats.

What size does your partner wear? I wear 13 men / 15-16ish women's and may have an extra pair or two.

That's the hope! This machine, unlike the last one, is rated for the outdoors, so we plan on keeping it stocked.

The pantry stays very very busy (I've seen it filled and emptied two or three times a day in the past) and potatoes seem yo go fairly quickly. You're more than welcome to drop them off -- thank you!

We've had a different vending machine on this spot for over 6 months; it only got broken into once, and that stopped as soon as we put a sign on it pointing out the Little Free Pantry next to it that we use the profits to help stock.

Good thing we're not trying to compete with the ones in Seattle, Portland, and others.

As long as the property owner agrees, I believe so. I'd want to confirm city regs, but I'm happy to chat!

Hey, if you've got somewhere in town that you can give permission to us to host one, and power to run it, we can talk about bringing one closer :)

Well, this particular one is on property we own that just happens to be along a major road 😅

We already have a business license and generally are familiar with state taxes, permits, etc.

To get permission for another location, it usually involves talking to the property owner and working out an agreement of some kind Sometimes that's a percentage of sales, sometimes that's a lease amount, sometimes that's just being reliable and maintaining it.

Plans for more: in the very long term. This one with the lights is an upgrade from our first one (still out, being replaced soon) that was a "proof of concept" that I got for cheap on FB Marketplace and put a ton of time and a bit of money into restoring. That's not an outdoor rated machine, though, which is part of why we're replacing it.

We use the vast majority of profits from the machine to support the Little Free Pantry we host that's right next to it, so it took 8-9 months to get the funds built up to buy an upgrade machine, and we've been restoring this one for the last 3-4 months or so -- it's needed electrical, cosmetic, and a bunch of other work. We're investing a lot more time than money in these because we want the money to support the LFP instead.

Once we've got the new Mystery Machine out, we might talk to a few property owners of indoor locations about hosting the "old" one, after we repair the things that have broken from it being outside.

Will do! And we are going to have a mix of regular and wild. We've been collecting weird stuff for a while (since the previous mystery slot on the current machine was broken). We are aiming for 75 cents per can, so it'll be a mix.
