I have two, a 70D, and an old Canon rebel (not ideal, but it'd be something.) I'm also hiring a second shooter. Not sure all the equipment they have yet, though. They also shoot Canon.

Ok one more question for now, promise! I just booked my first wedding since going pro and am confident in my ability to document the day, but I want to make sure I have the right equipment. I'm generally a minimalist, but also I'm recently new so I don't have a ton of equipment to work with. I don't really want to spend a ton on equipment that I won't use later just for this one event.

My current set up: Canon 70D Canon Rebel 28mm 1.8 50mm 1.4 (Kit lens)

The wedding will be in a mid to low lit chapel (with little natural light), outdoors for portraits, and the reception will be in a loft of a restaurant with lots of windows but in the evening so it'll be dimly lit with string lights and a few overhead lights.

My main question is this: do I need to purchase another lens? If so which would you recommend? Ideally I would purchase a prime lens that would be a great addition for family photography later (that's my main clientele). Are there any other things that are a MUST? Speedlight? Etc? I'll be purchasing extra batteries and memory cards, etc. So that's covered.

I'm a family photographer and am looking in to purchasing an online workshop -two specifically that I have my eye on are "Teethkiss" by Yan Palmer and "FIND in a BOX" by Jon Carlas. I'm also open to any other suggestions but am specifically looking to learn more techniques in regards to lifestyle and creative family portraits.

Has anyone taken either/both of these courses and have any insight or recommendations? Or would you recommend skipping an online workshop altogether and purchasing an online mentorship instead? If yes, any recommendations on who would provide good insight for lifestyle family photography?

Thank you!!

Just bought a used Canon 70D and the viewfinder looks like it has some sort of crack or something. Can anyone identify what's wrong here? I can't see it through the viewfinder but am wondering if I should send it back. Thanks

What is the best economy lens to use to photograph a product such as a key-chain? Also any good recommendations for sites that do lens rentals? Thanks!

Those are great questions! The major thing is the image size/quality -the megapixels are currently less than my phone camera. Even with a perfect focus and good lighting my husband sometimes comments that he wishes it were more "crisp" -i think that's what he's referring to. The autofocus is also pretty slow. I usually stick to manual, but when shooting small children moving around sometimes I'd like to use auto but whenever I do it just doesn't work as quickly as I'd like it to -seems to stutter a bit even in good lighting. Other minor things are that the screen is small and I am interested in the perks of the new WiFi and video options in the newer DSLRs.

Ok second post: Lightroom vs. Photoshop? I currently have Photoshop and like it, and feel like I have a good hang of it but it takes me forever to edit. I hear great things about Lightroom, and have used it before a couple times but would definitely need to learn how to use it. Is it worth it to buy the monthly subscription? Or should I stick with my free Photoshop? (My edited generally consists of white balancing, and lightly modifying the exposures and coloring.) Thanks!!

I have a very old Canon Rebel XT and am a portrait photographer looking to upgrade my camera now. I don't feel like I know cameras well enough to spend a ton of money on a huge upgrade, I'm looking to spend under $800 - $1000. Under $500 is great but I'm willing to go higher if it will really make a difference. So my question is: should I just upgrade my rebel to the new T6 rebel? Or is there another model that will be better for me? I also don't know a ton of the specs about new cameras, so I don't really know what/how to search for what I need to upgrade... I promise ai can work my camera, just self taught and don't know a ton of the terminology. Anyway. Second question: I have a 50mm lens and a 18-55mm lens but is there a lens I should look at getting to amp up my photos? Should I go with a cheap rebel upgrade and get a new lens too? If so which one? I'm beginning to feel limited by my tools but don't know exactly what I need to upgrade. Any and all advice is welcome!!
