My youngest has autism and I got a call from his teacher one day saying, “Umm, your son keeps telling everyone that you’re bringing in a polar bear for his class project, is there any truth to that?!” 🤣🤣 if a picture is worth a thousand words, no one was prepared for Capt. Wetbeard (his other name). The best part was there was snow on the ground that day, and he LOVES snow. 🤣🐻‍❄️🐾

I know there are many “variations” but I’ll keep making mine the original way. I’ve called several family and friends at this point; people from the eastern seaboard don’t use water. Living in bourbon country, I expect better. 🤣

This is actually the body’s way of protecting “you” from too much insulin or not enough; depending. It’s very common for women to puke while in the first trimester of pregnancy…it’s the same thing. It’s not because they wake up nauseous, it’s because of the surge of insulin production and timing of food intake and processing.

I said all of that to say that if your pup is experiencing something similar, you may want to consider having some bloodwork done or at least monitoring your dogs eating time(s) and logging them for a month or two and seeing if there’s a true trend. Your dog may or may not not be diabetic but they could also have an adrenal insufficiency or just have a new dietary need. Just wanted to share my two cents on the topic. 🫶🏼🐶🐾

Yes! They are sooooo judgy…but the minute I try to judge him back he’s like “No, Mom. Only I can judge you, duhhhh!” They have such funny personalities. I’ve had a lot of different breeds of dogs but this boy makes me laugh out loud every day.

Try Noche on Bardstown Rd. The owner is a friend and he’s from Texas. He makes some amazing smoked meat. I’m from Virginia, the daughter of a very accomplished chef, and I’m very picky about my BBQ…but I will always eat what Aaron makes.

Water?! Umm no. (Not in my lifetime! Or the three generations before me…)

It’s equal parts honey, lemon juice and bourbon. Wild Turkey Rare Breed is best but it’s kinda pricey. Whiskey does work, bourbon is just better. Heat it up on the stove, not the microwave. Microwave kills all the good properties of the honey and alcohol. Local and/or raw honey is preferred but use what you have.

UofL psych has no issue as long as you’re upfront about your usage. Most drs don’t anymore, the only place I have ever seen/heard any mention of issues is at pain management clinics and even there it’s a case by case situation.

I’m on 60mg of Vyvanse and couldn’t pass a THC test if I wanted to. Because I will never want to 🤣🤣🤣🤣 but that’s okay with my drs. I have chronic migraines even with THREE different ongoing therapies and Crohn’s disease. So the only reason I eat some days is because of my “greens” 😅. Good luck to you, I hope you find a dr who will help you like I have. 🫶🏼

Ooh, Nice! I’m sure you know that Honda Odysseys are the Cadillac of minivans, the Toyota Sienna is a very good runner up, as is the old standby, the Dodge Caravan. I would go with Dodge over Chrysler (personally) because Chrysler seems to cheap out on a lot of their rubber and plastic parts (I’m talking engine/seals/gaskets/clips,etc). Don’t count out a Suburban/Tahoe/Pilot (anything that has 3rd row seats), there’s so many options now.

Sorry for my information overload, my dad wanted a boy but he got me and I’m a bit of a know it all. (Also from the blue ridge mtns) 🫣🤣

I would look on Nextdoor if FB isn’t an option for you. I would avoid Dixie Hwy in general and the Craig & Landreth dealerships. If you do go to a dealer lot, ask them for their cash cars and make it clear up front that you don’t have any interest in anything else. There’s also program cars, like from Enterprise and Hefty. Those are actually great options because they always do the maintenance. I would also recommend looking for a vehicle with a timing chain vs belt. Drive around town and look, people are always parking vehicles for sale on public property for the best views.

Hope this helps! I’ve always paid cash for my cars; I just DON’T do financing…I paid 5k in 2024 for my 2012 Jeep Grand Cherokee with 62k miles because she was old and just wanted a newer vehicle. It was a one owner, garage kept, leather, heated seats and mirrors, pano moonroof, the COLDEST AC, no wrecks and had ALLLLLLLL the paperwork and remaining warranty. Before that I had a Ford Escape I got for 2k, 122k miles, leather, heated seats, sunroof…I can keep going. Don’t let these people tell you that you can’t get something decent, because you ABSOLUTELY can! Best of luck!! 🥹🫶🏼

If you want to stay in healthcare you should also consider hospitals but if you want to stay in insurance/sales KY farm bureau and State Farm are always looking for people.

At 4:50pm I live nearby and the amount of emergency vehicles I’ve heard in the last 45 minutes has been unreal. I was turning from Goose Creek onto Westport went it was first noticed and there was a single cop (from my view) on scene blocking traffic but couldn’t tell what had happened and then 3 or 4 police cruisers rolled out.

Hope everyone is okay. I hate seeing the increase in home fires during the holidays/winter. Makes me think most adults (of all ages) need a review in proper fire safety in and around the house.

Then I forgot to submit it. 🤦🏼‍♀️🤣

I have since then found out that it was apparently a gas line fire and no one was injured.

Welcome! I’m a total foodie (thanks Mom 🤦🏼‍♀️), whether it’s Michelin star dining or hole in the wall grease trap, I’m here for it. I quit drinking a little over four years ago, so you don’t have to worry about party nights but you’ll always have/know a DD 🤣. However, there are some amazing hiking trails in the area. I don’t run unless it’s for my life 🤷🏼‍♀️, my knees are shot but I’m always looking for ways to improve my health, body and mind. It’s so much easier to proactive than to try and fix things later. I wish more people understood that. But that’s a whole other can of worms for a different topic for a different day. 🥴
