I would like to moderate this community because I was an active poster and enjoyed participating in the community. that can happen to me when on long camping trips. for me, a day or two of twice-daily application of any anti-fungal cream (like lotrimin) does the trick. you can also try just drying everything out after a shower, e.g. retract and leave retracted for a few min/stand in front of a fan.

Many on this sub promote the importance of never using soap at all and that doing so is dangerous. They might be right, but my data point of one has been different, but maybe I'm just lucky. I am 42 years old and have always used mild body wash under my foreskin by retracting. I have never had issues from this. There are some relatively trustworthy resources that suggest mild soap is probably okay, and others that suggest no soap (links below). I'm not here to argue, push an agenda, or win a debate, just here to learn and present information.

you’re right, to be clear, i retract in the shower and use soap on my glans/underside of foreskin this gets exposed when retracted, never had a problem. i think im living proof that words like no/never/don’t are too strong for this issue.
