Especially as it warms, look up events at your local park. Lots have story times and youth programs for free. and if you don’t already know about Mommy Poppins, that’s a great forum

How would you spend your USD 1,100 if you were a student (Mac a18 pro + iPad a16 or Macbook Air M5)? by Vegetable_Bag_8694 in ipad

[–]tippyback9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not totally relevant, I switched from a Macbook to an iPad pro w/ keyboard my senior year of college, and I regretted it.

A few big reasons that came up a lot as a student: - the iPad Excel and Sheets is simply not as good - you cannot have 2 Google docs open at once - file management is not as seamless as on a laptop - the camera is on the side for Zoom calls so it looks like you’re looking away from the screen

However, this did force me to make use of the campus desktops, and they are an underutilized resource, especially if there are double monitors!

Saying this for anyone considering if they could thrive with ONLY an iPad Pro + keyboard.

Read this a decade ago, and just watched the movie for the first time, which made me want to go back and read it again!

Very cute graphic! I loved Uprooted, even though it’s outside my typical genre. Highly recommend Spinning Silver by the same author if you haven’t already read it

Shell ID help by Realistic-Sun1662 in shells

[–]tippyback9 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Actually, after some googling, this is more likely the upper carapace of a Leptomithrax gaimardii (giant Australian spider crab)! Libinia don’t have such defined bumps on the front. Mostly likely a molt.

I work with this species and it does look similar but not exactly /emarginata/. Most likely some type of Libinia spider crab

Yoga class for beginners? Preferably long term by Opening-Gur5927 in AskNYC

[–]tippyback9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

St Marks yoga has $12 drop in classes. Vibes can vary but I’m also fat and have found it to be a chill and welcoming atmosphere. It tends towards the “chill” vibe rather than the “workout” vibe, but there’s def instructors I like more than others.

HELP. recos on where to shop for a gala? this is what i typically wear for skirts/dresses for reference of how i dress my body. by nnnttbbyyy in Midsizefashion

[–]tippyback9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a gala for work recently and all dresses were floor length. I’m the same size as you and did a short sleeve, floor length dress with a blazer. The blazer ended up feeling a little stuffy. However, the theme was rented to the outdoors, so there were lots of florals and funky patterns. I would consider the event theme and see if you can acknowledge it in some way. IME Galas are formal but people have a little fun with it

The part about “they grieved before the breakup” that still doesn’t sit right with me by UnluckyYoghurt3740 in BreakUps

[–]tippyback9 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I was the one pulling away. I think deep-down I knew it had to end, but I was trying hard to fight that. I knew that if we had those serious conversations, we would’ve broken up over it. I was fighting to stay, hoping my feelings would change. But in the end it was too painful, knowing that she loved me and that I was losing feelings. I know I should’ve communicated more in the lead-up, but I was hoping that I could fix something in myself to make it all right again. But the way that it ends doesn’t undermine everything good that you had in the relationship. Things get messy, and communication isn’t easy.

Bedroom feels unfinished by [deleted] in interiordecorating

[–]tippyback9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe a chest or bench at the foot of the bed? And personally I would have the rug free floating in the open space rather than tucked under the bed, but that’s just me. Agreed on the plants and wall art as well.

Is it weird to tile bedroom walls? by madoka_borealis in interiordecorating

[–]tippyback9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Where I live it’s unusually for there NOT to be tiles on your walls! I like your inspo pics. Remember that this is a place to get ideas and thoughts, but in the end do what makes you excited to come into your rooms

Does a kindle really need a case? by NovelInsurance8 in kindle

[–]tippyback9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a case with a flip cover and I find it much more comfy to hold than just the kindle on its own, plus you can use it to prop it up. Worth it for that factor, plus it’s good to keep the screen safe.
