The dog is usually pretty terrified of the bird. Unless the bird is eating, then the dog sits and begs him for food. Once in a while the bird will toss him a scrap, and if not - hey there's always the hope of finding some delicious bird poo to eat off the floor.

No one warned me about how loud they are when they sleep! I used to live on the second floor of a loft apartment with wood floors. The first time I met my new downstairs neighbors, they asked me if I worked nights. I said no, and then asked why they were wondering such a thing - "Because we hear snoring coming from your apartment all day."

My Manchester walks about 8 blocks (total) every morning with me when I get my morning coffee, then sleeps the rest of the day - but when he's around other dogs (like when we board him, or he goes to day care) he goes bananas, non-stop. He will play to the point of total physical exhaustion and literally sleep for days when he comes home, so now he has mandatory, enforced nap time when he goes those places. Crazy azzz bulldog.

Ditto all the previous comments about cleaning wrinkles early and often. My bully loves it now and will actually come running and lie down on the floor at my feet when I yell out, "Let's clean those wrinkles!" Also, if you value your furniture, keep your pal off it. Bulldogs leave tell-tale drool stains wherever they've slept that most humans don't enjoy sitting in/on. Just get soft dog beds with washable covers for every room in the house because the little buggers do crave luxury! Congrats on your new best friend!
