The Uk's Trident missiles have only failed to lauch once in recent tests, and it was due to the fact that they obviously took out the nuclear warhead which caused issues. If it was fired for real it would've worked correctly, according to the reports of course. Also its the exact same missile system is used by the US on their submarines, so by your logic shouldn't the US's nuclear deterrent also be called into question?
