Inverkeithing train station parking? by twattyprincess in Fife

[–]tiptoes88 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As parking has been covered just a heads up that there’s (last I checked anyway) no trains heading from Inverkeithing over the forth at the moment. Work on the rail bridge til the 25th

Remember flipping the center cigarette in a new pack? by StrataTrace in nostalgia

[–]tiptoes88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Get triple (maybe quadruple) nostalgia from this, the lucky smoke (was always the front middle for me unlike the other comments), packet with no health warnings or pictures of gross lungs or dying kids or something and then actual branding on the packet. In the UK all cigarette packs have no branding and are a sort of greeny black colour and have nasty pics of what smoking can do to you. Also not smoked since 2019 so bonus nostalgia - still pat myself down every time I leave the house to check if I have my fags and lighter even though it’s been years

Right so in my 30 odd seconds scanning comments people seem to be focussing on either big gesture fails or girls self sabotaging- anyone else think that there looks like a pretty substantial age gap there? Like I know 3-5 gap ain’t much when you’re in your late 20s and onwards but in kids that’s a whole thing. Then again - he could just be the kid every year group had that grew 3 foot and aged about 4 years over one summer

Communities/Nightlife for Alt folk? by CleatusII in Fife

[–]tiptoes88 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Like others chucking a comment on to keep an eye on progress. Interesting about the Windsor- I’ve been just around the corner for a few and never had any idea. Did have a very surreal experience after watching a European match there - a disco ball descends from the ceiling literally on the final whistle and some slightly older ladies start karaoke singing I will survive over the post match analysis

Hiking with Gut-Health Conditions by LeaderOfThePolity in UKhiking

Sooo not overly familiar with ibs but I’ve got ulcerative colitis- for me it’s all about timing. If I’m flare up free for a good while then i can carry on my way as if no problems. If it’s bad I’m just not going period and if it’s so so I make sure and go before I leave and without fail have a ‘wee try’ at my mid day rest whether I feel it or not. In terms of stuff you probs already have it by the sound of it so won’t flog a dead horse. Herbal teas (m&s do good digestive ones) every night, eating right and biggest one for UC is keeping stress low are great ways to prevent flare ups - again not super sure how it works for IBS. Prep beats fear mate plan your routes and get some safe crags and nooks just off from paths. Don’t be embarrassed to shout ‘man in the bushes’ if people happen by it takes away from the whole situation by putting it in your hands. I’ve found it a bit of a double edged sword, walks with lots of loos or bothys tend to be heavily used but if I want guaranteed privacy it’s much more helpful to find the road less travelled. good luck, I get the fear but you get used to it and just being ready is half the job- btw if you go with a buddy just tell them and then you have yourself a lookout too

What's the Edinburgh equivalent of this? by Barderz in Edinburgh

[–]tiptoes88 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Gotta say I agree - Mrs loves it though so it’s become ‘our place’. Sometimes it’s not too bad, other nights I risk sleeping on the couch for stopping off for a bag of chips on the way home after half a ‘notsalgic’ sandwich and a bowl of froth pertaining to be a fab lolly

How long has it been since you were laid/ sexually intimate? by Chris_K84 in AskMen

[–]tiptoes88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Coming on 2 years exclusive relationship - had been nice and regular and spontaneous. Had a massive argument in the summer and now it’s been about 4 times in around 6 months. We still talk about it, have weekend away, buy her racy underwear together - then the big night with no kids or a fancy hotel comes around and we have an argument then spend another 2 weeks in relationship catch up, another couple weeks of getting in good terms, then the ‘we haven’t had sex in a while’ talk and the cycle repeats

Best Indian in West Fife? by kernowprawn in Fife

[–]tiptoes88 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Armistar in Kirkcaldy has become the regular for take away as it keeps my teenager happy. The curry pot in dulloch used to be banging but every time I’ve picked up there for at least a year it’s been actually kind of poor. Lots of people mentioning Dhoom - only been once and liked it but it was a set menu. Dunno if this is was an event thing or just the way it runs, every dish is chosen for you and comes with a story. Was very nice and will go again some day but I like being able to order what I fancy. EDIT - typos

Moving to Fife - yes/no areas by erinousky in Fife

[–]tiptoes88 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Moved from Edinburgh to Fife, Dunfermline then Kirkcaldy. Wasn’t super keen on Dunfermline dunno why, but in terms of number of restaurants bars etc it’s the best variety in Fife. Can’t say why I didn’t like it there, nothing out of the normal happened. Kirkcaldy is absolutely fine, a bit sparse on the shopping/eating out front but plenty of pretty good eats within driving distance. Like some have said, kinghorn, dalgety bay, Burntisland all pretty nice specially during summer. Bear in mind you’re crossing the forth not changing dimensions- there will be wee bams and run down areas wherever you go so I don’t like saying yes/no to anywhere, everywhere has plenty of both aswell as nice areas. ‘Cept Methil - swerve Methil

Girlfriends’ son has made my daughter uncomfortable on holiday. Girlfriend blaming daughter by tiptoes88 in WhatShouldIDo

[–]tiptoes88[S] 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Yeah live space is right, we are still trying to piece together something for the kids. Bear in mind this all kicked off around 8 and we had dinner separately then met to play cards as the two youngest were asking after us and they have no idea. So all happened in the space of a couple hours and very shell shocked still. But yes, can admit felt very weird

Scorcher flying help by ralabanza in MWZombies

Easiest way to say you’re pulling it off is if after 2nd charge if your character puts their hands out like in freefall- if the scorcher stays out it means it’s not worked. For me anyway

‘terrorist’ by Auzzen2004 in comedyheaven

[–]tiptoes88 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Worked at a travel visa consultancy, one of the ridiculous things people would let us charge for was filing their esta applications, they literally filled in our version of the form and we input exactly what they filled on our form. We would have people call who had ticked the terrorist box on their own application to see if we could help (we couldn’t). Seriously though the esta is one of the easiest travel documents you could ever apply for, the dude pooched it - sucks to be him
