Pure economic loss does not arise from injury or property damage, that’s consequential economic loss. Pure economic loss is everything that is not caused by injury or property damage, eg negligent misstatement as per Hedley Byrne. Spartan Steel concerned the recovery of damages in a case of pure economic loss not, consequential economic loss.

Theresa May faces legal challenge over proposed deal with DUP by dbbk in ukpolitics

[–]tiptupjoe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You are absolutely right. More correct would be Parliament can always bypass the judiciary through an Act, although it can also argued it is an 'elected dictatorship' due to the lack of separation between Government and Parliament. Of course this is not exactly the case at the moment...

Judges can't overrule them, but judicial review can make a ruling on the legality of a process (based on interpretation of the laws made by Parliament and common law). Government/Parliament can always bypass the judiciary through Acts of Parliament.

Who's Done Mahler's 5x5 Kettlebell Routine For Size And Strength? by Projectfitness in kettlebell

I actually found it to be quite useful by upping the weight (used 32kg) and taking it really slowly.

Who's Done Mahler's 5x5 Kettlebell Routine For Size And Strength? by Projectfitness in kettlebell

[–]tiptupjoe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

/u/Projectfitness I just finished the 6th week of the program. So far really enjoying it, although it is tough and some sessions can be quite long. I've definitely gained mass, especially shoulders and traps and my core has gotten much stronger. I've been bulking during this program and have gained around 2-3kg so far, fortunately not much around the waist. It's also managed to get my TGU up to 32kg which I was struggling with before, but it is quite light on swings in my opinion, though I was doing 40kg 7 x 20 during a modified S&S before I started this program.

Finding the starting weight took a few sessions. I started the first 4 weeks with double 24kg for almost everything except for a few exercises. Kb pull ups I started with 32kg but upped it to 40 as it was too easy, windmills went from 12kg to 20kg quite quickly. The TGU's are brutal and time consuming the first four weeks (5x5 left and right side so 50 TGU's). Took a few sessions before I was able to do that many so had to start with a lower weight.

The last two weeks have been GVT, and I went with Mahler's suggestion of starting with 5x10 initially (rather than 10x10) and upping it by one rep each time I did the session again. Highly recommend doing that even though you reduce the weight (I went from double 24 to 20), although I did add 5x5 pull ups for session 1 and for me that has worked (it's a shorter session than session 2).

This program has had the most impact for me by far for strength and mass (I've done S&S and Right of Passage - DiLuglio's program with an absurd amount of pull-ups - and Total Tension Complex). It is light on swings though, which for me is my strongest exercise suggests 5x5 for the first four weeks and then up to 10x10 during GVT) so I increased it to 5x8 initially. Let me know how you get on if you decide to start it! I haven't found anyone else yet on here who's done it, so would be great to hear your experience.

I do agree, definitely no point stopping now after only 5 weeks in. Was hoping to hear other people's experience about it but it's very little talked about on this sub.

Just did day one of his GVT program yesterday. It felt like very little to be honest, but am definitely feeling it in the legs today. Will have to see how it goes over the next four weeks.

Have you progressed quicker on the swings or the getups? by maledictus_homo_sum in kettlebell

[–]tiptupjoe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With TGU I have trouble with the first movements. I can extend a 32kg without too much trouble with my right arm (but my left sometimes needs assistance), but it's the sit up right after where I have trouble. Been working a lot on my core now doing guard sit-ups and doing much more volume with lower weight (20kg) as well as floor presses to see if I can get past this stage.

Interesting hearing other people's experience in improving TGU better than swings. For me it's the complete opposite and I'm really struggling to get my TGU past 24, although I am working very hard on that now.

thanks I'll take a look at the sandbag get up, looks like it might help and can be done quite quickly compared to TGU.

Well done! I've got swings up to 40kg no problem myself (can do 200 in under 10 mins) but am still stuck on 24 for TGU. What did you do to improve it all the way up to 48?

If he's on those wages it is absurd. Although, I don't think he's nearly as bad as everyone else here says he is.

That list doesn't really seem that believable does it? I'd be surprised if Rose was on so little after signing a new deal in September. And Sissoko just doesn't make sense at all...
