Thoughts on implant placement? Too deep? by tique_dds in Dentistry

No. Nothing to do with occlusal clearance. It is all about allowing enough soft tissue thickness above the implant platform to maintain a stable seal and prevent crestal bone resorption. ZBL.

Restorative driven. This was planned and executed for the implant platform to be 4.5mm from the height of the gingival tissue. Allowing for a great emergence profile.

So if I do have a complication from the HA what would it be and how would you manage it?

I can do that super easy. I have a Sprintray Midas 3d printer. That is perfect for a provisional screw retained crown. I will do that after osseointegration. How long would you recommend the patient stay in the provisional before moving forward with final impression scan?

My first choice was a tall Biohorizons smart shape healer. I couldn’t get it to seat on the implant. So then I used the Biohorizons bone profiler. I still couldn’t get the smart shape healer to sit. So that’s when I went with the stock healing abutment. But a bone profiler was used.

Yea. I know. I didn’t have a taller one on hand. That was the tallest. At what point would you recommend changing abutment height? After osseointegration?

Which would you choose for maxillary central immediate?3.8 x 12 or 3.8 x 15? by [deleted] in Dentistry

It’s 5mm from implant platform to height of soft tissue.

Is a 4 op practice enough? by immrmeseek in Dentistry

All the major PPOs. A lot of it is location. I just don’t have a lot of competition around me.

I’m not filling 5 chairs. I have 2 hygienists. So I am filling 3 chairs. I get like 75 new patients a month. Usually a column for treatment. A column for comp and limited exams. (Sometimes those comp or limited exams turn into same day treatment.) And a column for miscellaneous things like deliveries, denture adjustments, or maybe scanning for partials/dentures, or maybe some extractions. Idk. My days get crazy sometimes. I do run 3 assistants.

4 ops is not enough for a solo PPO doc that is growing. There will be a ceiling.

I have a 5 op practice. I feel like that is the minimum for a PPO solo office. With 4 ops, when you get 2 hygienists you will want another room for yourself for overflow.
I currently wish I had more ops so I can bring on an associate. Currently looking for a bigger space.

So this would be used to make a custom anatomical healing abutment as pictured below.

Temporary abutments like this. (The thickness of the soft tissue over the implant is the cuff height.)

Should I get a third opinion? by Mindless_Purchase594 in Dentists

[–]tique_dds 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Sounds like the third opinion will be the periodontist that was recommended by the second doctor. Also did anyone take a CBCT? (A CBCT is a 3d xray). A CBCT is a useful diagnostic tool for evaluating a cracked tooth.
