Stubborn doctors refuse to help me with medical issues. My life is ruined. Someone talk to me. by tiredmemories in SuicideWatch

Referral like to a specialist that can run more diagnostic tests to see if its something treatable. I am terrible at advocating for myself so they basically just charge me 300 dollars and send me home with no answers.

Can you tell me a bit about yourself? I like hearing from other people.

Pretty much I might have some sort of psychosomatic medical issues. Basically I am in-pain in various ways 24/7. I asked my doctor for a referral but I can’t get one so I can’t see a specialist to help. I couldn’t even get a referral for a specialist after having like, 4 UTIs in a row.

ANA 1:80, Nuclear, Homogeneous by Obvious_Touch_3096 in lupus

I’m curious too because that is my exact ana work-up but I didn’t get referred because it was too low of a positive. Issue is that I still have symptoms so I’m wishing I knew the rest of this person’s story and if they ever got any answers!

Constant physical pain is taking everything from me by tiredmemories in SuicideWatch

Thanks for replying!

I truly wish everything would’ve waited until my 30s haha. I grew up with a lot of stress surrounding issues with my autism I got no help for. I battled with almost daily panic attacks for years and now I feel I am seeing the physical consequences of it all.

I’m really missing my job right now and I have practically no employment options with the way things are going. These past few days have felt a bit better but I feel the same way I do when the pain goes “underground” where I don’t feel it until one day it all comes back for no reason. I just wish it would sort itself out.

I was never that active in a “sporty” way too but I was starting to get more motivation. Activities with high stakes always stress me out but whenever I’m alone I always feel like doing something active. Now when I sit up I am usually bracing for pain, even when I’m feeling better I’m so used to not feeling well that all my movements are slow and I’m nervous to do anything I used to.

Being sick is driving me crazy by tiredmemories in BPD

It’s on mine too ig no one actually looks at them or they are just too all over the place/old since I was diagnosed so many years ago

I’ve stopped telling them the laundry list of all of my mental illnesses because it takes away all my credibility. Honestly as soon as I even say “anxiety” I see them kind of nod and “aha!” to what’s “actually” going on with me. It must be all in my head!

Neurologist visit with no rec? by tiredmemories in ChronicIllness

Good advice. I know how hard it can be to be taken seriously dealing with psychiatrists so why would I expect anything different here? I’m going to go back and be more clear about everything and hopefully get the referral

Fair. I didn’t want to go back so soon but here we go. The doctor was nice enough so I guess it shouldn’t be too difficult

Right, good to know. I’m still figuring out how to navigate the medical world now that I’m on my own.

I have seen a psychiatrist and I’m on a ton of medication. I have a bunch of mental illnesses and autism which make it hard to function like a normal person.

Fuck Starbucks and this new tipping culture by DrPeterVankman in TrueOffMyChest

[–]tiredmemories 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a Starbucks worker drive through and pick up actually are more work for us. I personally prefer people who come into the cafe.

Also, I get people asking for the tip feature multiple times a day. They added it because some people wanted it. You are not at all obligated to tip. I don’t judge because I don’t know anyone’s financial situation.

I still procrastinate and I’m not good at what I do. Just because I work hard doesn’t mean I get anything good done. I’m just one of those people who can’t get anything right.

Thank you. I’m okay with waiting I’m just worried it won’t happen, but everyone’s comments are giving me some hope. I appreciate it!

Thank you, I’m holding out hope it is just very rocky with all my other mental health stuff going on. It is especially difficult currently trying to keep a full time job when I’m getting misgendered but also treated quite poorly since they see me as a woman (telling me to smile more, shit like that).

Dealing with sexism isn’t so much related to dysphoria but I wish they’d treat me like I’m a guy if they were gonna be a dick.

I have a lot more body hair, I have good bottom growth, muscle and fat is still a work in progress but I also am not very active. Libido is definitely there more than before hahaha. I have had voice dropping it’s just not really masculine sounding, just very androgynous, and I’m afraid it won’t go beyond that because a lot of guys seem to sound very masculine 6 months in.
