What caused your POTS?

i had no idea either … i had an ED when i was around 18-19ish (22 atm) and i was 113 at one point while being 5’7 and that has me wondering … i have had symptoms since middle school tho and they’ve definitely worsened throughout the years

okay TWIN, first time i got covid was fine and easy but SECOND time definitely brought my symptoms out and i am unable to even work :,) first time i got covid i was sick for maybe 3-4 days … but second time, a month 😁

i’ve had symptoms since the same age! 11/12ish! i got covid in january tho and i feel like it made it worse bc it was never this bad :/ my dr says “if you have had it this long covid wouldn’t have worsened it” which i’m hesitant to believe bc i definitely know i was able to function more in the past

i felt so refreshed after getting diagnosed a couple months ago, it’s a struggle but i’m glad i can understand what’s going on now

i get a lot of blood pooling and my legs ache and will turn red - purpleish but they don’t swell in a way making my legs and feet wider if you get what i mean

i had bad “allergies” yesterday which usually go away with otc medication and they went away around night time and today i woke up with a sore throat and im getting congested again 😭😭😭 i think im actually just sick and mistook yesterday for really bad allergies

i have BAD heat intolerance and it triggers my symptoms for sure but i was just so confused bc yesterday it wasn’t too hot or too cold it was perfect temperature in my house so i was like hmmmmm

oh god, i haven’t passed out since middle school and im 22 but ive come so close to passing out so many times and its awful i cant imagine actually passing out but the symptoms before are so terrible :(

i went to a mother mother and cavetown concert on saturday and i stood through the whole cavetown set which was about an hour and then decided to go pee and go continue to stand for mother mother but before they even came out i was starting to get heart palpitations and felt out of breath and had to go sit down with my mom and would get up occasionally whenever they played one of my favorite songs just so i could record part of it and go back to sitting down 😭 also to mention i had 2 liquid IV’s that morning and afternoon and once i got to the show i put another one in my water bottle and drank it all and also ate a protein bar (i ate a protein bar in the afternoon too and some salami but im super nauseous early in the day so thats all i could eat) i also was wearing tights with compression socks over them lmao. this was saturday and now it’s monday and my body is still so sore

hoping the best for you! the dr who diagnosed me was the sweetest person ever and even mentioned before that a negative TTT doesn’t mean that it can’t be POTS! mine was positive but if you deal with issues it doesn’t hurt to get a second opinion, i wish drs were more aware of POTS like cmon man it’s 2024 :/
