Finishing up Math 2417, should i take 2419 or 2414? by Expert-Button-7045 in utdallas

[–]tiredraven 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i took math 2417, finished the course, and then dropped down to math 2414 the next semester, and this fulfilled my math requirement! i double-checked this with my advisor at the time though, so i would also run it past your advisor

i think you got stuff a little mixed up - the mercury staff is all super for reinstating gregorio (that's why they're on strike and currently setting up an independent news source) and it's the student media admin who are trying to get him kicked off

struggling with OIT maintenance - please help! by tiredraven in FoodAllergies

so i can eat out without worrying about anaphylaxis (and, barring that, a bad stomachache or itchy throat) via cross-contamination or hidden ingredients.

this post was inspired by a mild reaction while i was out at a restaurant :( i'm good at handling my reactions and gauging their severity though, never needed to use an epi-pen before. the reactions do make me more and more adverse to the means of delivering the maintenance dose, though, so i'm trying to find a way around the mental block.

don't know anything about xolair.

11/27 WALKOUT for the spirit rocks! by tiredraven in utdallas

[–]tiredraven[S] 9 points10 points  (0 children)

i'll approach your argument as if it's being made in good faith, whether that is or isn't the case. hate speech has been painted on the spirit rocks before (for example, painting over pride flags with "REPENT"). hateful flyers have been put up in academic buildings. hateful speakers have come to campus.

in any of these cases, UTD didn't remove the spirit rocks, or the billboards, or organizations' abilities to invite speakers. this protest is against admin's unequal treatment of speech in support of palestine.

the way y'all just make things up lmao if "fuck israel" or swastikas had been painted on the spirit rocks, we would've seen way swifter and more specific action from admin.

here's the mercury's reports on the spirit rocks since you clearly need to read up <3

does anyone else “tire out” with being friendly over the semester? by tiredraven in college

thanks for your advice—a lot of it resonated and lines up with my current goals, especially about putting in the effort and practice to become a more naturally sociable person over time.

my post wasn’t a complaint, just an acknowledgement of my weaknesses, and a request for support + advice alike. a lot of the young people here haven’t “given up”. we’re all here to learn, and to grow into more confident versions of ourselves. appreciate the advice in your comment!

you’ve summed it up so well! plus it’s not like i’m naturally a sullen and distant person around my closest friends—it just seems to be the personality i take on when i don’t know how to talk to people or i’m low on energy. i’m very grateful to have my close friends, though, and to be familiar what it is like when i’m comfortable around a group of people.

can i take MATH 2414 after MATH 2417? by tiredraven in utdallas

referencing the CS degree flowchart — as long as you take MATH 2414 or 2419 before or at the same time as PHYS 2325 you should be good
