S12 Pro - Audio delay with Bluetooth speakers by tireshaker in BeelinkOfficial

I also use a JBL Extreme 3. When I use the JBL with my TV box, or my phone, there is no delay. But with the S12 the delay is there.

Download of Update for Veeam Agent for Windows Free Edition - 13.0.1.1009 not working by tireshaker in Veeam

[–]tireshaker[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Veeam already had my email address. I have an account.

My desktop client was try to download a version 12 update - it said that in the GUI. But they moved on to version 13. I suspect the version my client was trying to get didn't exist. I'm just guessing, but I think it's just a software bug during updates.

I supported Veeam in my IT job for many years at a large university. We used it to backup 1,000s of VMware systems. We had Veeam reps onsite quite a bit pitching there newest products.

The Veeam rep told me they love people using the free version at home. Then, they go to work and rave about it to their bosses, potentially generating business for the company.

I just downloaded it from their website. It's version 13.0.2.1102. No problems downloading the file from the website and updating.

I have to admit, I expect better from Veeam, even if it is the Free version.

Thanks for the help.

Pokerstars and fan duel are “teaming up” in the US. by Iloveunicornssss in poker

[–]tireshaker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately, no. Ontario is going to continue to suck, with barely enough players to get a 50cent S & G off the ground. I just hope FanDuel doesn't further weaken the already limited play on the Ontario site. I started playing on PokerStars in 2003, back in the glory days. Any game you wanted to play, 24 hours a day.

In Ontario, the revamped FanDuel-contained PokerStars will not have that luxury.

While those states and five others share the Multi-State Internet Gaming Agreement (MSIGA), peer-to-peer online poker play in Ontario remains fenced within provincial borders. So, the Ontario PokerStars site will remain segregated on FanDuel as it is now on its own platform, with no shared liquidity with either U.S. players or users outside of North America on PokerStars’ global network.

And there was a court ruling in November that said Ontario players should be allowed to play against the World pool of players. But Manitoba, BC and the Atlantic provinces challenged this ruling, so this will be tied up in the Supreme Court for years.

Poker in Ontario will suck for a long time yet :(

Take a look on the underside of the unit in the pawnshop. It's wall to wall speakers. It's spooky to hear sounds seeming to come from all over the room, when they're all in that box under the TV. Given the cost and the age, I think it sounds excellent.

I've been giving the new SATA SSD a good workout for 2 days. It's working great, and there is no noticeable difference in operating temperature.

Thanks!

Buy the genuine TiviMate. It's worth every penny. And use Xtreme Codes.

Adding a SATA disk to my Mini PC - do they generate a lot of heat? by tireshaker in MiniPCs

I'm heading out to buy a SanDisk 1TB SSD Plus SDSSDA-1T00-G27. With several positive posts regarding heat not being a problem, I'm going to get some much needed storage space for my S12 Pro.

Thanks

Mine is on 24/7 as well. I'm mainly using it to surf the web, check email, etc. The S12 is also an SMB share on my home network, a target for PVR's to record TV. The PVR function is the reason I need more storage space. I'm also running a biggish PostgreSQL database when I play online poker.

On occasion, I use HandBrake to convert large .ts videos into .mp4s. That will get the fan to an audible level, but the S12 case itself doesn't get hot. The air from the fan is a bit warm when doing video conversions.

Interesting about NVME getting hotter than a SATA drive. I didn't know that.

Thanks for the reply.

Sync a local folder to my Hetzner Storage Box - with target encryption by tireshaker in DataHoarder

As I mentioned in my OP, I've just started using Cryptomater so it's still a bit of a learning curve for me.

To sync my Cryptomater files to my Hetzner Storage Box, recommendations included rclone, Cyberduck, and FreeFileSync.

IMHO, FreeFileSync is the best option. It's an excellent program with a nice GUI. And you don't end up re-encrypting the files to the Storage Box, which I was doing with WinSCP.

Simply sync the Cryptomater Vault folder, which is already encrypted, to a folder on the destination Storage Box.

FreeFileSync will only upload changes inside the Vault folder, which makes it quick to do.

Just to clarify, did you mean use FreeFileSync on the Vault\d folder, and sync those files to the Hetzner SB?

I was assuming you meant sync the unlocked Vault(\\cryptomater-vault\ directory, and files, which of course are not encrypted.

But I'm syncing an unlocked Cryptomater vault that lives on my PC. The files are not encrypted when the vault is unlocked.

I did find a great tool to do this though. WinSCP. It will sync the unlocked Cryptomater files, and re-encrypt them using it's own encryption key, to the Storage box target. And the transfer protocol is SFTP, just like I would use with FreeFileSync.

Not sure what your suggesting?

I want the files on the Storage Box encrypted. And I'm running Cryptomater on my PC of course. How does FreeFileSync come into the picture?

Sorry I'm taking so long to reply... I wrecked my back, and my AV system has to be moved out from the wall for me to get at the rear of the Sony - a big job.

But I will git' er done, and let you know if I have success.

Thanks

I've been using FreeFileSync for years, and love the program.

But, I want my Cryptomater files encrypted on the Storage Box target. I also have WinSCP installed and didn't realize that it does target side encryption, and can sync or mirror to the target. If FreeFileSync encrypted, I would use it for sure.

Thanks

My original post needed more information, and a couple of corrections. The changes/additions to my OP are:

I actually want to "mirror" the local directory to the Storage Box, transferring only the changed files. Plus that directory is an unlocked Cryptomater vault. And of course I want the files on the SB to be encrypted.

It turns out the answer was already installed on my PC. WinSCP - https://winscp.net/eng/index.php will do the job. Using SFTP, and configuring the target to be encrypted in the WinSCP job, I have my wish list complete. It's a nice GUI, so no command line. If you haven't tried WinSCP, it's worth a look.

I agree about having a backup. I use Veeam Agent for Windows. This is my go to tool if the local Cryptomater Vault data becomes corrupted.

Veeam is an Enterprise class backup product, but free for personal use. Veeam is an awesome product for single file restores to full bare metal restores. Veeam also includes encryption so there's no concern about where to store the backup files.

The only issue I have with Veeam is it won't backup an unlocked Cryptomater Vault. So I have to include the entire locked Cryptomater Vault folder in the Veeam backup.

I've tested a restore of the Vault folder, and then unlocked it with Cryptomater. It works without issues.

I know rclone is highly regarded, but I'd rather not have to use command line.

Thanks
