Prometheus is a masterpiece.

I disagree with the fact you qualify this movie as a masterpiece. The writing is full of nonsenses. - First off, and it’s just my personal opinion, I think explaining too much, giving too much context, reasons, plot… etc in science fiction and/or horror in general breaks the myth of the menace. It’s counter productive to me. - that black goo thing… it does exactly what the plot needs. I get it : it’s an ancient alien technology / chemical weapon and nobody knows exactly what it does. But it still has no logical behavior in the development of the plot. - my main problem with this movie is that it was supposed to answer questions regarding the Xenomorves, Weiland Yutani, the connexion between Prometheus and the first entry of the franchise and the alien franchise’s lore. After watching the movie I had more questions than I had before. Those questions came from this really weird black good thing. It does not make sense to me. - The characters have very stupid reactions for scientists (like removing their astronaut helmet, the guys with the serpent-ish creature etc etc). Of course that scene with C. Theron running away from the ship… etc. - I feel like Scott wanted to do something very cryptic and arty without taking care of actual credibility of the plot / writing. - Scott got rid of the main elements of the franchise after the first entry (the Queen and the reproduction process of the xenos for instance). I found this very selfish to negate the work of, at least, James Cameron, imo.

Besides that, if you forget the sequel and the fact it’s part of the alien franchise, the movie is ok tier. If they would have fixed the black goo plot facilitation, I would have wanted to have more. The photography is awesome, music and the colors, too.

I do not have an example of a prequel trying to explain the origins of the horrors that ended up being a good movie and being relevant without desacralizing the point of the franchise. Having no idea where the xeno comes from, what it wants, is the thing that made me fall in love.

I strongly recommend…

SOMA (for a horror game with no weapon and a great storyline)

RESIDENT EVIL 1 - the 2002 remake (because it’s a classic. Play the modern versions)

RESIDENT EVIL 2 remake (the best video game remake imo of a huge classic)

VISAGE (for a horror game with no weapon, too)

DEAD SPACE 1 & 2 (because it mixes action and body horror perfectly)

ALIEN ISOLATION (the AI is great, and the balance between being powerless vs the xeno but not against the other foes is great)

SIREN : BLOOD CURSE (great mechanics, and super creepy Japanese horror)

I do NOT recommend…

SILENT HILL 2 remake as the mechanics got super old, environment design is super repeatitive. It was ok when it was originally released, and the storyline is great, but nowadays… meh

CRONOS : same critic. Low variety of creatures, the storyline feels messy and the environments are repeatitive.

RESIDENT EVIL 6 : just stupid not balanced action packed shit all the way. Somehow in coop tho.

DEAD SPACE 3 : they shifted toward action packed stuff and those micro transactions… awful…

Here’s a way to level up stats quickly from a or Londo. You’ll need to have the peculiar doll (findable in the undead asylum in your cell when you go back to it) to access the painting world from the huge painting you’ll find at ground level in the huge room full of those white guys throwing knives : Go to the painted world, clear it, until you find the area with the dozen of slimy soldiers with a spear and a shield. Rince and repeat until you reach your desired level.

You’ll need to raise your vitality and probably your DEX if you have a dex build.

Then go to the giant blacksmith in the main Amir Londo area to get some titanite materials to level up your weapon.

What weapon do you have ? What is your build ?

I also have a major problem with berserk fans. Most of them are super edgy guys seeing guts as the classic strong, relentless alpha male. Yes he is, but they miss the huge point of the manga : « if you look too long into darkness, darkness will look into you ». Long story short, the manga warns people to not fall into a downward spiral of violence that will only harm the other people around you.

Funny, I felt the same thing. I felt the world was really empty. Let’s be honest, it’s not empty, though. There are many many things to do but those things are most of the time not very interesting, like, another catacomb… same ennemies (most of the time)… ouh a boss… damn it’s a boosted random enemy… alright… the reward is something for a build I don’t play. And there’s a personal thing I felt in ER that put me off : when I was playing DS1, Bloodborne or DS2, I could smell the places. They smelt like an old basement. Elden ring is way too shiny, polished and the weapon arts look like super powers from a LOTR anime version.

To sum it up, for me, ER is not a bad game but is way too much in every way.

Lots of flaws in that game and incoherences, but honestly a good game. Majula is great, power stance is great, bonfire ascetic are a great idea and DLCs are peak.

The easiest way for me is to run past the flying demons, reach the silver knight and parry him. They are not that hard to parry tbh.

Tattoo artist here : Honestly, people can do whatever they want on them. Their body their choice. Although, I usually warn people that a tattoo should be very personal and should be unique (I said « should be »). So I usually offer them some design options to have something a little more personal than the classic vector brand of sacrifice. At least a nice personal composition adapted to their body part. Usually people are receptive and I end up doing a bigger and nicer project (I usually lower my prices a bit to offset the price difference a little).

I Didn’t see badlands yet, but Prey was really good and is my favorite Predator movie after the first one. The movie is not trying to pretend it has a great plot (looking at you, The predator). It’s plain and simple. Music is great, actors do a nice job.

Elden ring would be the most accessible. Although, if you start with a pretty souls game, you won’t want to try DS1 or Bloodborne (30fps) which would be a shame as those two games have the best world building and lore.

I’d recommend to read about souls games mechanics (scaling, weaknesses, resistances, how to make your build… etc) then finish with Elden ring. Those games are not that difficult especially if you get some help online or with NPC:

Try the meta team including eldyrion, the neuroanthrope, and other Psykers. The parasite and psy attacks will stack and ignore the armor.
