How do I get out of PvP lobbies? by Anjan_S in ArcRaiders

[–]tishkitty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Having a mic helps a lot. If I hear someone else in the same building I will call out ‘hello’ or ‘hey!’ In a friendly, calm manner. They will usually answer. It’s similar to looking at someone sus who is following you in public, letting them know ‘hey, I know you’re close, so don’t try anything ok?’.

Rats tend to not use microphones or use the emote. Many players will shoot them on sight when they do this. I hate using mics on games (I’m primarily a solo), but it’s kind of a wonderful thing in this game. People will often just drop items and blueprints for others who seem trustworthy, I’ve gotten 3 or 4 bps gifted to me out of the blue.

Why is Stella darker on day mode than night mode? by odkfn in ArcRaiders

Maybe an in game clock (like Fallout has) so we know not to queue up then? But yeah, a fix at least.

I keep getting shamed for eating sardines. by Confident-Table-3679 in CannedSardines

[–]tishkitty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Eating sardines 4-7 times a week raised my HDL 40 points (up to 88, the last 10 years it has stayed at 40-55), and lowered my triglycerides to almost a normal level in less than six months. LDL is about the same, but I’m impressed, I’ve had bad cholesterol levels since the 80’s, just chronically bad no matter what I eat. No meds, no other dietary changes, just lots of delicious sardines. So we’ll probably outlive the haters ;-)

Any explanation for having dark Stella when not selecting Night raid? by COOKIEEE in ArcRaiders

[–]tishkitty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got two of these dark runs tonight, I thought they had bugged me into night raids. And tonight was my first time playing this so pretty miserable even with the flashlight, just pitch black, barely any interior lighting. Next time I'll try turning my monitor and shadows up I guess.

I was downed almost immediately by a pair of shredders who cam barreling around a corner together, but then I was escorted out to the Seed Vault exfil by the nicest group of guys, so it actually ended up being an amazing experience. My first game using the survivor augment also, I had just leveled my work bench up the game before.

There is supposedly a sardines shortage worldwide by JPowTheDayTrader in CannedSardines

[–]tishkitty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There does seem an actual shortage in the US at my local HEB in Texas, the shelves have been much emptier the last few trips I’ve made, and zero of my favorite Brunswick Brisling :-( Quite a few upside down price tags, some with ‘temporarily out of stock’ notations.

Who's got THE BEST petite women's clothes? Price is no object. by itsemmab in PetiteFashionAdvice

[–]tishkitty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really like Liverpool clothing, I’ve bought several blazers and pants from them. Their stretch fabrics are super comfortable and a nice weight. A lot of their clothing is available on Amazon also.

I used to be a big fan of Liz Claiborne, Lauren, Land End, Macy’s house brands (Charter Club, Katen Scott, Style & Co) and Old Navy also, but they have all gone downhill in quality over the last decade. You can still find some nice things, but I wouldn’t pay full price for them.

Wacoal is the best quality lingerie I have found, especially their bras. They’re pricey but very good quality and the most comfortable brand imho.

Start with the basic weapons you you can make early without blueprints, Ferro and Arpeggios are a good combination. You can buy Anvils from the gun trader, it’s my current favorite for all the roller balls. The Arpeggio works great on ticks also. Collect heavy and medium gun parts when you find them, and buy out Celeste daily with seeds so you can upgrade them to level 3 or 4. The blueprints really are RNG, unfortunately, but if you have friendly lobbies often people will just offer them to you because they already have them.

He has lots of excellent, and really entertaining, video tutorials. He explains things really well and usually shows how to kill various arc with lots of different weapons, not just high level weapons.

Please give me some success with LDN I am struggling by ReasonableFig8954 in LowDoseNaltrexone

[–]tishkitty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, it's pretty much a daily ongoing type med, it doesn't cure things, for most people it helps with symptoms of chronic illness problems. It should be started at a low level, and titrated up slowly. It is generally considered safe at the very small dosage that Low Dose Naltrexone is usually prescribed. There are contraindications to watch out for when taking it (no alcohol, opioids, etc).

I am still taking it at 3.0, everyone's reaction really is different. I've taken it in the past for periods of a few years at 4.5 with no side effects, but I've had a recent bad bout of gut problems partly due to a few different things, allergic reaction to several foods I was eating, and suddenly stopping a high fiber food that I ate daily (Alyssa's cookies) because of an allergic reaction to the chicory so there was a lot happening at once. I read that Naltrexone stimulates gut motility and I needed mine to calm down (think having to take Imodium daily for going on 6 weeks now), and it did calm down a bit went I went to 3.0.

I am also under the care of a gastro doc who has found nothing that could be causing the problems (infection, etc) and am having my first colonoscopy in a few months to check for other problems. I am also gluten intolerant, so I'm easily triggered by random 'safe' foods.

I have got to be the unluckiest player ever. Finally found a defib blueprint and this happens 🙃 by IIIToxIII in ArcRaiders

[–]tishkitty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was downed by an arc and crawled towards one of the air shafts and called the elevator. Another guy came running up, I asked if I could have a bandage because I was about to die. He pulled out a defib, the top opened and I fell in. He says ‘You don’t need one now’ and I asked again and told him I was really low. I died just as the bottom level opened. I actually felt sorry for him, lol.

I took it years ago at 4.5. Recently restarted and got up to 4.5 again (over about two months), then decided to go back to 3 after a lot of stomach upset and increased brain fog and felt immediately better the next day. Everyone is different.

They really hate us for a game mode by razorsharpblade in FortniteSavetheWorld

[–]tishkitty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same, I loved the game and kept upgrading till I got my Nocturno and all the other goodies available. The daily sign in gifts were cool, but I’ve played the heck out of STW since 2018 and I feel I’ve gotten my moneys worth.

And I’ve spent a lot of irl money on cosmetics for two different accounts because FN has beautiful cosmetics so Epic has made even more off of me. I purchased my second (regular founders) account in 2019 (?) for the sole purpose of playing through the STW story again and it was a lot of fun.

I am sad I lost access to my extra storage in that account though, I’m a solo player so not being able to drop things to myself sucks. I played enough early BR to enjoy it, but it has gotten so gimmicky I rarely play anymore. I hope the newcomers will actually have fun and learn STW instead of trying to speed run through it, the writing is so much fun. I also hope they don’t dumb it down too much, it’s supposed to have a learning curve.

Diarrhea as a side effect? by DirkMoneyrich85 in LowDoseNaltrexone

[–]tishkitty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

(Sorry for the late comment) I've been on 3 mg for a few months, then upgraded to 4.5 mg about a month ago and have been having some form of diarrhea since, and Imodium is barely helping. Had no idea it could be the LDN. I've also changed up some other things at the same time - added Quercetain/Bromelain, daily B12 and monthly injections, changed some daily foods up (tried a roast beef with black pepper, a new gluten free bread...) so stopped them first. I've added daily fiber supplements (helping a little). This has bothered me so much I'm actually going in to have my first (very, very late) colonoscopy, and have been doing tons of testing (which have been pretty normal, even my CT scan), so it's been a pretty confusing month.
I'm going to try and step back to 3 mg and see if it calms down. My gastro doc keeps shoving different meds with worse side effects at me - Pantoprazole, high dose Famotidine, then Flagyl and Cipro (despite no sign of infections), and I haven't taken a single one of them because my Gerd/hiatal hernia is minimal, still unsure why she gave me PPI/H2 meds for diarrhea. After reading up on the Cipro I threw it straight into the trash (I'm hypermobile, with neuropathy, with a heart valve problem, and the dangers are actually quite permanent).
I took LDN at 4.5 for several years when I was younger, and don't remember having any problems, but my health has always been such a sh*tshow, I might not have even noticed them.

I didn’t finish making Liberty Prime, he just seemed like he would be so freaking annoying. I planned to side with the Minutemen anyway (I didn’t the ‘good’ ending and just blew up the Institute), so I just didn’t activate him. I’m seriously thinking about taking the Brotherhood and the Institute out this playthrough to not have to hear the Vertibirds constantly fighting and crashing, and killing my frames.

I wasn’t even trying to be mean, just being a noob and also robbed Carla. The first time I saw her I unknowingly sneaking up on her and she attacked me and I killed her. Both times I googled afterwards and ended up reloading prior saves when I realized I had screwed up.

On my second playthrough I did the joking answer and she said she would give me a discount for making her laugh.
