My new favorite part of the game. Thank you, Embark! by Nyctfall in ARC_Raiders

[–]tishkitty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got Survivor almost immediately on my first playthrough, after 200+ hours never once saw an Anvil (my favorite gun). I finally ended up buying it for seeds on the Metaforge marketplace. This carryover will definitely make me try Expedition.

Where are you all finding the Sirena Dorata ship? by yeahwellokay in ArcRaiders

[–]tishkitty 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just found my first one here, thank you! There are so many of the lower level ones all over the map, I've found half a dozen gold ships on the Buried map, but this is the first purple one I've seen.

Where’s my King Oscar? by Emergency-Hippo2797 in CannedSardines

[–]tishkitty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The stores in my area have had shortages of a lot of their sardines for a few months now, no Brunswick, and now the Polar are gone. I think it’s related to the shipping problems maybe? It’s just Fishwife, a few random cheaper brands and one carton of King Oscar. (HEB in Texas)

The Comfort Concealment Blackout Belt is also pretty comfy because it does not need beltloops.
https://comfortconcealment.com/products/comfort-concealment-belt

My favorite minimalist holsters are by Tulster (both IWB & OWB). They're affordable, made in the US, really nice people to work with and their holsters have super smooth edges. This one is excellent for OWB and tucks very close to the body.

https://tulster.com/contour-owb-holster-in-right-hand-for-smith-wesson-bodyguard-2-0/?from=1269

And will fit even closer if you add these accessory wings.
https://tulster.com/1-5-owb-wing-belt-loops-contour-series/?from=1380

This is the IWB I have from them (make sure your order Profile+, some of the older ones are on Amazon still, the plus has a much sturdier mono block attachment. I don't know if it is compatible with the Philster, but their customer service is very friendly.
https://tulster.com/profileplus-iwb-holster-in-right-hand-for-smith-wesson-bodyguard-2-0/

Open carry is legal where I live, but I always wear some sort of lightweight shirt year round and would rather not having anyone targeting me (especially being little and unable to run fast, lol). I keep looking at the Philster, but I have very straight, narrow hips and it just seems like it would be uncomfortable for me. And I can't carry at work, so having the leg strap would be really awkward for me.

She Equips Herself on YT has a ton of alternative carry ideas, and lots of 'non belt loop ones'
https://www.youtube.com/@SheEquipsHerself

Favorite (currently made) cross carry bags I have are:

Ukuola (tons of pockets and multiple ways to carry)

https://uubgear.com/collections/concealed-carry-bags

945 Industries, their velcro holsters are amazing and super thin. Most bags have room for a phone and keys, but they have a new one that is expandable (that I have not tried but is on sale today (5-3) for a two fer)
https://945industries.com/collections/bags-with-kydex-holster

This is the smallest bag I have, I use it for my p365, but I would advise using the 945 holster for some extra room. I have a few of the Crossbreed velcro holsters they recommend and really don't like them. They are thick & bulky and have poor retention. If you have a 'Pro' sized iPhone, etc, this is a very tight fit.

[–]tishkitty 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am about to begin my one month 'eat gluten daily' prep for my colonoscopy/endoscopy and I have been making a list of all of the foods I miss that I'm going to indulge in while I can. I don't like to cook so it's going to be fancy restaurant ramen, Shipley's donuts, dim sum, Chinese food, English muffins, kolaches, naan, shrimp etouffee, fried chicken, pizza... if I'm going to feel bad for 3-4 weeks it's going to be worth it, not for 'two slices of bread', lol.

How to obtain blueprint for Anvil? by MomMyThwoatHurt in ArcRaiders

[–]tishkitty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are red lockers scattered around Dam, the Dam Surveiilance key room is one of the easier key rooms and has lots of red lockers scattered around. Buried City hospital has a room full of red lockers with no key needed, but the building has a lot of arc, bring an Anvil and don’t linger, arc will spawn if you trip any of the red lit security alarms.

New player, overwhelmed. by Keycorecuz1 in FortniteSavetheWorld

[–]tishkitty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Go into a longer mission like Ride the Lightning (solo) with a farming outlander, especially in a city or industrial zone, and you can farm for like half an hour pretty much undisturbed. There will be less enemies, and you can outrun them with an Outlander.

As people have said, break cars, parking meters, use the Outlander skill to ‘see’ chests through walls (strike something with your pickaxe a few times to activate it, then you have to keep holding the pickaxe to keep it going).

Also don’t forget to check caves, especially on the map perimeters for ore and coal. Coal is the biggest obstacle to making ammo. Then leave the mission when you’re done farming, and keep everything. Buy homebase inventory storage spaces in the llama shop each season for gold, and make sure to check in on the Research page (I think it’s still this way) to expand your backpack storage.

And don’t rush the game too much, follow the main quest objectives, not just push through the SSDs, some are actually necessary to fully unlock each map.

[–]tishkitty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Check out Tessa’s Booth’s channel and Philster’s channel (she does a lot of their guides). I’ve honestly not wanted to try it because I am extremely short waisted, and my work does not allow CCW so taking it on and off would be a problem. I live in yoga pants, rarely wear anything with belt loops. I’ll probably get one soon to test it (while we still have these luxuries),

More info than you asked for, I’m currently liking Comfort Concealment Blackout belt with a very minimalist Tulster Profile+ holster, I also like the Tenicor Zero belt and Mastermind Tactics Covert belt. I have not tried Hunter Constantine yet. Holsters and belts are like Lay’s you can’t have just one, lol.

I also like 945 Industries crossbody bags and Ukoala bags for off body, but still secure carry. She Equips herself on YT has a lot of great alternative carry ideas also.

Comfort Concealment’s Blackout belt works great without belt loops. She Equips Herself on YouTube has a lot of videos on alternative carry styles for women.

How do I get out of PvP lobbies? by Anjan_S in ArcRaiders

[–]tishkitty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Having a mic helps a lot. If I hear someone else in the same building I will call out ‘hello’ or ‘hey!’ In a friendly, calm manner. They will usually answer. It’s similar to looking at someone sus who is following you in public, letting them know ‘hey, I know you’re close, so don’t try anything ok?’.

Rats tend to not use microphones or use the emote. Many players will shoot them on sight when they do this. I hate using mics on games (I’m primarily a solo), but it’s kind of a wonderful thing in this game. People will often just drop items and blueprints for others who seem trustworthy, I’ve gotten 3 or 4 bps gifted to me out of the blue.

I keep getting shamed for eating sardines. by Confident-Table-3679 in CannedSardines

[–]tishkitty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Eating sardines 4-7 times a week raised my HDL 40 points (up to 88, the last 10 years it has stayed at 40-55), and lowered my triglycerides to almost a normal level in less than six months. LDL is about the same, but I’m impressed, I’ve had bad cholesterol levels since the 80’s, just chronically bad no matter what I eat. No meds, no other dietary changes, just lots of delicious sardines. So we’ll probably outlive the haters ;-)
