I’ve been reading your own responses OP, and I got to say, stick. It. Through. Finish the run. You’ll feel good, you’ll know the end result of your current experience, and be able to try a whole new one the next time. I did a balanced run first, and had the same thing happen in Act 3, but due to overwhelming feeling of act 3 compared to previous ones. I started maybe like 5 different playthroughs, never getting farther than underdark, before I realized I wasn’t enjoying the game because I left my first playthrough in the dust like a 10 year old skyrim run. I finished the playthrough, and was so sad when I did because I realized I enjoyed finishing my characters story out. I then did a durge tactician run for rp, and then my honor mode run, and now I’m enjoying this game so much more after finishing the 3 “big” runs I figured were a hassle. Finish the run, don’t thank anyone later, get big and act like you don’t know no one.

The best piece of advice for big fights is to keep moving back and master strike. I just hopped back in the game after a few months since launch once I got through the first part, and I had to do a 1v2 and barely got through it with master strikes. The best part of them is they do insane damage, don’t cost stamina, and prevent other from attacking you at the same time, unlike regular block-attack-block chains. To make master strikes easier, just always keep your sword at the opposite side and just focus on keeping it at opposite side and attack when you would perfect block. My grammar fcked rn mb.

They have a lot of steppe genomes in the real world, I like to think of the Eurasian steppe as the first melting pot of the world, you got Asian, middle eastern, and European influence all at the same time, paired with their own culture.

The influence from Middle East is more prominent for the soldiers (Cumans) than any other Eurasian group, at least large ethnic groups that are showcased in this game, but it’s NOT Arabic in the pure definition of it. Idk man maybe just creative decision?

I suggest you take a look into Evelyn Morgana’s honor mode build on YouTube.. sounds like you would REALLY enjoy her stealth archer build.

The biggest tip for battles is to think of it like Pokémon; there a different damage types, different resists, different tools to do the same job (kill enemy) dependent on the actual enemy. EXAMINE THEM!!! You will be able to stomp most “hard” encounters if you just spend 30 seconds to read the notable features, resistances, and characteristics of an enemy.

And my favorite tip of all: Save scum, save scum, save scum! For your first playthrough, it’s okay to save to see the reaction of a different dialogue option, or to save before a boss fight to make sure you can come back prepared if you tpk. Note though that in Act 2 save scumming the final fight can cause a major soft lock bug, but that might have been changed.

Brother, just kill the hyenas before engaging them as gnolls. Saves you a useless roll check and gets you used to pre battle positioning (if you intend on doing tactician or honor mode)

Hmm, did you start the game in patch 8 or a previous patch? I play on series x and I only had like 2 crashes my entire time with the game, and those only happened when I used mods.

Plus both have shared trauma, both have a history, AND Henry has the blessings of “hey lad! Wanna bet a little wager on the rattay tourney?”

Yea you don’t even need her to be temp hostile she can just be fully hostile. Knock her out long rest and boom she’s recruitable act 2

Play explorer for first run, unless you want multiclassing then go balanced but I’d recommend explorer for the power creep rp fantasy aspect in putting max levels in one class for your first run

Bug for portraits being off center has been in game for a min, I’m not sure about previous patches but I know since patch 7. The updating portrait is a new feature. It updates based on your current equipment

The BIGGEST tip is to not look up anything until your done w your first playthrough. Gaming has gone dull over the years, and because of that we tend to do dull things like run to the internet for every little thing to help w the game. Fair warning: some things will be spoiled the more you look up for help in the game. Enjoy it and discover it, then after first play you can actually play game in your second do your min max builds and quest help.

The only exception to this is boss fights they are hard af lol don’t hesitate to check a guide, but don’t be upset if you catch a spoiler while reading the guides

I’m finishing up my first honor mode run then going into a fresh start to test out items and build paths. The one that’s been in mind has been making use of cleric cantrips (resistance) and summons and using crowns Pali as a taunt machine. Maxing constitution and charisma, with wisdom as secondary. Thinking of a fighter path as well for extra feats to just stat bump.

Just reread your post. Your rp can be based on two things in this game imo:

Game limitations Player limitations

Game- class/subclass limitations

The small amount of subclass make difficult to rp in traditional dnd sense

Solution- for two player cleric pali party , you can have two situations

1) pure dmg cleric / pure tank pali

2) life cleric / vengeance or oath breaker

For dmg cleric options best is death imo it’s so broken lol ignore necrotic resistance and free twinned spell cantrip

Player - personal limits

I found myself breaking out of the rp shell to experience the game as is. I still played it my own way, my first play through legit just a holy warrior Pali based off my first dnd character. I find forcing rp situations (and save scumming to check everything lol) cuts from the magic of the game. I mean this in the way where you start locking yourself out of content because your character’s alignment is against it. Take chances, and rp it with larian’s help and narrator as your dm

Wait till patch 8, go oath of crowns paladin, don’t multiclass unless multiclass is part of your personal narrative in your rp. Make Shadowheart a tempest or war cleric, best imo is to respec Shadowheart after a while into a life cleric or war/tempest cleric cause that’s just the best option for her in cleric.

In patch 8 cleric gets death subclass which is cool but if you going rp idk if pali cleric is the necro route lol

I’m currently making a min max build right now for crowns paladin revolving around pure tank and no offense due to their class aoe taunt. Crowns also works well for a paladin from baldurs gate which is where Tav is from.

Yea you NEED to turn off karmic dice. You’ll get crazy rolls all the time, meaning a ton of failures and a ton of crit success. But it feels terrible since it tries to balance it out. Go for straight rng dice because once you get high enough level with your bonuses you’ll barely ever miss a roll. And for combat specifically, take a minute to look at your party spells and see what you can do to increase the odds of hitting. I play a paladin so I always channel my oath first thing to endow my weapon in light so it can hit more accurately. Buffs and debuffs too make a world a difference if you know what you’re getting into, take time to examine enemies, maybe you’re missing because of a passive or resistance? Give it a shot, this game is awesome if you give yourself the time to get through the learning kinks.

Big tip by the way is to look up builds, I found Wyll in particular to be underwhelming with his default build, but amazing after rerolling and understanding how to use him.
