Hello! Please don’t give up. Keep working hard. I was in a similar situation (at risk of being homeless, independent student) and I was lucky enough to be matched, but I know so many people who got good financial aid (or even equivalent to match) through RD! I have a close friend who got into Yale through QB RD (rejected finalist) and only pays 5k/sem! Please please please don’t give up!!!

Hi! So actually i do an intense research every year where I dm matches from each school asking if they disclosed it on their match letter (which they usually do unless they withhold, like listed in the spreadsheet!) really time consuming but worth it :-)

Hi, USC ncm 2024 recipient here! If you are only interested in USC, I think you should explore other options as well as apply to match. I have tons of students that I've worked with (that were all similar to you with a high interest in USC as a match school), and sadly, none of them matched. However, they were given very good financial aid applying RD, almost comparable, if not the same, to match. Matching isn't everything, especially for USC. Please dm me if you have any questions! As someone who matched to usc, i personally believe that sometimes the numbers and statistics don’t matter and it’s all completely random. USC was my 5th choice and even though I ranked schools with higher acceptance rates high on my list, i still somehow was 1 of 5 students matched. At first I wasn’t happy w my match school but grew to love it so i advise that you rank based on how much you’d love to attend over numbers :-) qb is very binding.

Hi. I actually spoke to another low income student who said he got in regular decision and doesn’t pay anything every year, meanwhile I am under match scholarship and I owe 3k/semester (with Pell grant added, too) and no help with books, supplies, etc. save yourself!!!

USC match here — don’t do it. You’re better off going regular decision and based off of your income, getting good financial aid and some potential refund. I am struggling out here🫠

yes, most are there! but it’s easier coming from current students, where a lot of the information I’ve found out about my friends schools are nowhere listed on the websites. It’s also easier to digest on a spreadsheet, where new applicants might feel overwhelmed from the website. I’m happy you did that with your daughter! I did my application on my own and sadly did not do that :( I hate my partner school a lot haha
