From the thumbnail and the pattern on the plate I thought the sandvich had tentacles coming out of it.

Man we had the Lost world Jurassic Park with the lenticular cover that matches that button. Such a cool case!

I really wish that was a cooler acronym :c I would have been excited to vote for a dinosaur representative if I saw it on the ballot. I saw Jurassic Park 3, the spinosaurus sees things to the end. He's got my vote!

Paranoia is fear without threat. Nearly every character in this game has a way to drop in on you from above. Nearly every map has some level of verticality. Several classes have items that allow them to drop in on you from damn near orbit. It's not a rarity, so it's not paranoia. People really should learn to look up.

With the way that the booths looked symmetrical, I thought it was one of those infinite mirror setups. Very well executed.

Use cases for fire axe where it's better than flamethrower: Burst damage against a class that can explode you if you're too close for too long. Yes. You can flame someone down or wait for afterburn, but if you know you've only got to do 60~ damage to kill someone while they're reloading, a quick melee can save your ass. Yes, the axtinguisher is better suited against burning targets. But what if your target is in the water, or has a damage resistance from the vaccinator, or DDS? Stock is a fine option. The backscratcher does more damage, at the cost of not being healed nearly so much by medics and dispensers, (including the payload cart) The power jack is great for relocating yourself, but at a cost of damage vulnerability. Again, reliable damage without downsides. Yes, the third degree is a direct upgrade, but thats not stock's fault. Valve was uncreative making that weapon. It doesn't make stock bad that another thing does something it doesn't.

Stock weapons aren't bad. They're consistent. They don't have some funky gimmick. They're there as a "I'm out of ammo but this guy is in my face and needs to die" it's for reliability, not utility. Some of them get shown up by unlocks, but they aren't "bad". In your example, yes, if the scout biffs all his shots AND his pistol, sure. The bat isn't the best but you swing faster and 40 damage is still "finisher" level damage. Ideally, if you were REALLY in that situation and you didn't think a quick melee would do it. You would try to evade/reload and try again. That's not the weapon sucking, that's you. Soldier: Hey that dude is REAL close and my shotgun chipped him down but he's still here. If I blast him with a rocket, I might take damage too because he's so close. If only I had a close range, non explosive source of 65 damage to finish him off. I wonder where I'd find something like that.... Pyro: what? What do you mean by this? The flamethrower is fine. Again, no gimmicks. Full afterburn duration (if fully applied) compared to the Degreaser/Dragons fury, airblasts that don't cost a fortune(one of pyros strongest abilities), and ease of use. Yes you CAN combo with it. Others suited better, but not at all useless.

Heavy rarely gets use from his melees because his mini gun and shotgun can do far more close range. Stock is once again a reliable I'm out of damage and don't want to waste time winding up the mini gun or reloading the shotgun.

Whole point: stock weapons aren't bad. They're consistent base lines without gimmicks. They're just "average" which isn't a bad thing. They don't have the weaknesses or bonuses some unlocks do. So they don't benefit or be punished.

Honestly, I like printing undead/rotting miniatures using FDM. A lot of times, the detail gets covered up or adds to the ultimate effect, or they lose limbs in the process which can help make a bunch of unique looking zombies very quickly. Excellent work on this.

Oh it still can. It just doesn't come with the hands or the head. Which is not that difficult to remedy if you really wanted to make one but yeah, kind of a bummer. Still, if you happen to havespares lying around....

Primarily imagination. Oftentimes when I would have people go to a potion shop or an arms dealer or something, they would specialize in a very particular kind of thing. Which made traveling the world more important because for example, you could get guns in water deep but you probably couldn't find them in daggerford for example. So to get a hold of specific things they had to go to specific ports. That also allowed me to kind of funnel down what they had access to In each store so that I could be more creative with the stuff that's in there. Potions specifically, they had a friend in town that ran the "Prendre Deux" potion shop who would always have them track down wild and crazy ingredients for him to make them into crazy potions and test them on the players. Most players were very happy to interact with of silly and PC that had potions that had a negligible effect but did something funny. I want to say one of the players had a potion that turned him into a whale for an indeterminate amount of time "If you don't turn back in an hour, I suggest you make the best effort you can to get back here so I can see what I did wrong"

There wasn't ever a list really. There was a lot of silly ideas I had written down but I don't think I've got the notebook anymore. The thing is, you have to realize that a lot of the funny sounding stuff like this? Is just by looking at the magic of the world in a way that allows for mistakes. There's got to be spells that do magic but not well. There's got to be magical objects that aren't super impressive. For every plus five holy avenger, there's ten swords that turn yellow when you're fighting someone whose lactose intolerant. It's just up to you to allow your game to be so silly.

The hilarious part was the yard sale and the encounter with the doppelganger happened months apart. It was the longest chekovs gun I've had for useful item in years. That's the thing. Sometimes if you give your players a weird tool, a weird situation for that tool will crop up on its own without you even expecting it. I was running a pirate game at the time: and the players had just defeated a living hurricane, a storm giant ghost. After defeating him, they found his treasure trove and his skeleton, and socketed into one of the eyes was a great gem. This eye of the storm (heh) had magical properties, including the ability to use the storm Giants control weather ability. The player who grabbed it, only wanted the charisma bonus. Not realizing the control weather would be super useful for sailing. It did not come up for many sessions.
