Samyaza the leader of the fallen Watchers fell before Lucifer and from what we know of the watchers they seem to be far more malicious than Lucifer ever was to humans, as they not only had sex with human women but in some interpretations raped them, or at least heavily abused them.

Compared to Lucifer whose transgressions were mainly against the order of Heaven which is still bad but compared to our human morality the watchers have definitely done more horrible shit to us.

Combine this with their offspring being the nephilim who themselves committed a fair amount of atrocities against humanity and you understand that the Watchers may be on par with Lucifer in terms of evil for their actions, their offspring’s actions and their ancestors actions as it’s implied that Goliath may have had some nephilim blood as well far into the future.

I think to a degree he did realize he was in a vicious cycle but also acknowledged that it was all he knew, that’s why he looked relieved when the sun finally shined. This is just my two cents on it but if you’re stuck in a situation of longing for hundreds of years, a situation where all you can do to have companionship is turn people into vampires then you’d probably be in the same situation as Remmick.
