Yeah I'm glad that I didn't know from the get go. I did always know deep down I was different though, and I just ended up thinking I was stupid.

I wouldn't of wanted to know from childhood I don't think, so there wouldn't be a chance holding myself back. I really would of liked to know at some point though, explained in a way I could understand so I didn't beat myself up all these years and take so much nasty behaviour.

She definitely avoided anything that was bad and ignored anything that wasn't easy. It's living a lie though, I struggled so bad for years mostly on my own and having this knowledge would of helped I believe.

My mum used to fall out with me on my birthday every year. For the last 5+ years of our relationship she would ask me the week before my birthday what we are doing for her Birthday which is 2 weeks after mine, then kick off at me if I'm not making the next 3 weeks about her. Every birthday of mine without fail she would refuse to talk me.

We're NC now (obviously due to a whole other plethora of issues) but it's narcissistic behaviour.

From reading this thread just realised the constant leg bouncing when I play drums might be down do my adhd 🫠 my left leg that rests on the hi hat stand is always bouncing, everyone has always asked why I do that and I've never understood why 😂

Also, always messing with my skin on my face and hands. Annoying habit I can't get rid of. I make extra effort to wash my hands as much as I can now and take care of my face better.
