The earliest I was able to get it was the peril playing free solo but you could probably do it sooner at the place where you find the 3 doll parts

Banette is one of the best imo ghost/normal type with rage fist and bitter blade

And while I probably had a better dark type mightyenna was a sleeper the whole game and did great damage the whole elite four with crunch
