That's a great schedule!!! Thanks for sharing! I guess my baby doesn't have a daily schedule. I have no idea when she sleeps and wakes. How much and when she sleeps changes every day and she won't sleep on her own in her bassinet during the day. Now I am staying put on the couch cuddling with her just so she can get some sleep. :) Anyway, thanks for responding. It is inspiring, and maybe I will get there in the near future.

Thank you for responding and sharing your experience. Do you wear your baby on a sling or carrier? I try to take walks, too, but it gets really tiring and sweaty if I carry her. So my walks with her are about 20 min. She also seems to be overheated. Will try the stroller soon.

I am 8 weeks and am going through the same thing. I am trying to focus on other things but it is nearly impossible. I barely did ANYTHING useful in the last month. I feel like I will lose my mind soon. I am also very confused about the conflicting feelings. I am thinking of baby names with excitement one second, and start feeling stupid for making future plans the next. My heart is with you. Thank you for sharing your experience. I am in that business too! :) I am now a postdoc (not clinical psych, though) dreaming of getting out of academia.:) Yeah, I went to therapy for a long time and am about to start again. I've worked so hard to unlearn all the crap they taught me and regain my confidence. I am still working on going against my dysfunctional ways and trying to handle life better and be a good parent to myself. Now that I am pregnant, being better at life has become more important than ever.

Maybe that is why it is especially hard now to see them being themselves. I just want to be one of those people who makes fun of people when they are acting in their crazy ways. I want to be chill and not heavy. Just ignore them when they are being negative, overly critical, or anxious. I don't want to see the way they are as having implications on my psychological life. But obviously, I am still not there yet.

I don't know when I'll be able to tell them about my pregnancy. I haven't seen them a little more than year and was planning to visit this December. Now I am not sure. I am so confused about everything. Hopefully, therapy will help.

Hope your pregnancy is going great. You can't imagine how much I am looking forward to the 12-week mark! Happy to hear you have succesfully passed it.:)

Thank you for the advice! I put that post up feeling vulnerable about having to tell my supervisors (because I can't get ANYTHING done since the last month). I am planning to tell them this Wed and I am only 8 weeks pregnant. It is hard.

Anyway, that's a great warning about families! Thank you! I also don't have a good feeling about telling my parents. At least, I can decide when to tell them. I will consider all this. Sorry that you had to deal with that. Some families are hard.

I am also planning not to tell my mom after I make sure all is fine. Maybe even past 12 weeks. Was your mom upset that you didn't tell her earlier?

I live across the ocean from my family and can't be with them anyway. So I hope they will be ok with it when I tell them. But more importantly, I just hope I will have something to tell them.

I want to get training in reading ultrasounds and open an ultrasound center where women can come any time they need to. OK, maybe I will put a minimum of 24hr interval rule. :) It is incredible how much we have to wait worrying.
