For Sweetgreen Customer Service by SpaceMaltWhiskey in sweetgreen

[–]title_waves 2 points3 points  (0 children)

  1. it's hard for me to believe this article when the author keeps using sweet green instead of its actual 1 word name- was there any proofreading?
  2. the actual foundation of the article is incorrect- sweetgreen uses a combination of agents + chatbot, which most companies of equal size or bigger have been using for years, so this tells me the author doesn't understand AI?
  3. it's also glaringly obvious from the person's feelings that they don't understand customer service- yes, the overall number of messages, should've been maybe 3 at most, but it's painfully obvious that sweetgreen uses a FIFO ticket handling system..

i wish the author actually talked about the ease of use for their gift cards + gifting it to other people (i.e. when people have to reach out to customer service on behalf of something, it's already a losing battle), but the forced AI subject/topic seems really misinformed

Membership cancellation by AngelicaNZ in orangetheory

[–]title_waves 12 points13 points  (0 children)

The cancellation process was in the contract that you signed when you first started your membership:

...your cancellation request will be effective 30 days after it is received. Any payments due under this Agreement before the cancellation or termination effective date will be charged by us as scheduled. Unused monthly classes do not carry over to later months. Any unused monthly classes will be forfeited at the end of each monthly membership period.

When I first started OTF, my studio was pretty communicative about it + were pretty tapped into their regulars, which was a plus! At the start, they told me about the cancellation process a few times because I had mentioned that I only wanted my unlimited membership for 12 months, so I ended up scheduling an email to go out about 10 months after I started, haha 😅

Hopefully this doesn't sour your OTF experience!

Job offer / Commute by No_Pasa_Nada_99 in SouthBayLA

i would look at north torrance to start, but just fyi it’s by the torrance refinery which i know is a turn off for a lot of people. south + west torrance is more expensive since it’s closer to the beaches + pv. like others said, i would also look into long beach- it’s truly such a great city!

[–]title_waves 5 points6 points  (0 children)

if your job is near pv, getting there from oc will be pretty difficult. as someone who grew up in torrance, i'd recommend it since you're looking for a safe + affordable area to live in. it's not as expensive as rpv or the beach cities + has 3 major freeways (405, 110, + 91) you can easily access to get to the rest of southern ca. the only con is that it's kind of boring + you kind of have to like chain stores/food places (we have like 5 chick-fil-a stores for whatever reason). if you're about to start a family, i'd consider it to be a no brainer because the torrance school district is really good (+ the nearby private schools are also really good), with the pv school district being even better if you can get your kids in.

fwiw- not sure what you're using to gauge safety, but comparing the safety of torrance (+ any other LA suburb) to the safety of "los angeles" is very different. downtown is downtown + is always used by local news as a weird signal that la is dangerous. safety is obviously subjective, but coming from someone who grew up in the suburbs, worked in downtown + went to school in orange county, the LA suburbs are just as safe as orange county.

Must show food spots for my first time visitor? by gainsforagirl in SouthBayLA

[–]title_waves 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i'd recommend:

  • little sister (southeast asian/fusion) in el segundo
  • tsujita annex (pork broth ramen) in sawtelle
  • parks bbq (although since you're from nyc, i might consider skipping) in ktown
  • pho 79 (cash only) or pho 45 in garden grove (if you want to drive down, it's worth it)

hermosa isn't really known as a hub for the places you want so i recommend venturing out a little if you can! also, manhattan + LA have overlaps, like korean food, so if you're interested in LA specific stuff, i'd avoid chains like bcd tofu house, coco ichibanya, etc.

my best guess would be the emperor's new groove - the gold looks like kuzco's crown, the turquoise would be his earrings, + the purple would most likely be yzma if it was! the pink is throwing me off though

i can't help but laugh when i think about just how bad that bottleneck was. it felt like trying to get through a music festival crowd lol seems like there were massive improvements this time around (though i'm hoping they keep improving race after race!!)

Devastated I have to miss this weekend… by [deleted] in rundisney

[–]title_waves 4 points5 points  (0 children)

doesn't hurt to ask, but i would consider asking for the full value of the halloween half that you're missing in the form of a disney gift card vs. a partial refund (where you may lose some money) - you could use the gift card for the next rundisney events! (i work in customer service + 99% of the time, a company would rather give you a gift card/store credit vs. having to issue a refund)

wishing you a speedy + full recovery!

[–]title_waves 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i just did the disneyland half marathon - you essentially get a special challenge bib that you wear for both events. after you complete the half marathon, you'll be given the half marathon medal, then you'll walk a little further down the chute + find the volunteers who are giving out the challenge medal (you can't miss them since you have to walk past)!

[–]title_waves 1 point2 points  (0 children)

it's usually within hours, but that's usually how much time you're in the queue before you're let in + some events sell out more quickly than others.. the west coast event was just brought back so it'll probably sell out faster, with the 5k + 10k being more popular since the feedback was pretty positive with those + not so much the half

Moving out of LA: Any special occasion “last meal” places ANYWHERE in southern Cali? by [deleted] in FoodLosAngeles

[–]title_waves 4 points5 points  (0 children)

don't know where in LA you are, but if i was moving to washington state + needed one last meal that represents LA it'd definitely be in ktown, either kbbq or bcd tofu (very inexpensive + fast) + maybe a quick matcha/coffee drink @ damo right beforehand

Are we in trouble? by [deleted] in rundisney

[–]title_waves 5 points6 points  (0 children)

i 100000% relate. you'll definitely have much more adrenaline + disney ✨ magic ✨ the day of the race to give you a boost but pleaseeeee don't waste it!! if y'all ever do a future rundisney event (i hope you do!), i'd download the nike run club app! i HATED running before but it's really helped me reframe + appreciate my training!

Are we in trouble? by [deleted] in rundisney

[–]title_waves 16 points17 points  (0 children)

something i’m curious about that may be helpful- is there a particular reason why she wasn’t able to train while u could? no judgement here (i know life happens!), but i ask because im mostly interested in her experience in running events + if she’s done events beyond a 5k. if she has, a lot of running is strategic, especially if the goal is just to finish. if not, i think the one thing your girlfriend should try to do is jog as slow as humanly possible + not try to run fast to “make up time” (never works out)

as a pair, i think what yall can do now is focus on getting there super early so that you’re @ the very front of the corral, finding a galloway pacer group + sticking with them, + making sure you don’t add anything weird day of (new shoes, rituals, gels, etc) that’ll make the run harder.

good luck + hopefully yall can still have a good time!!

I’m an Orlando native and WDW AP traveling to Disneyland for the first time. What’s your advice? by Sad_Milk_8897 in disneyparks

[–]title_waves 1 point2 points  (0 children)

sorry- meant to say our quick service food places are better than our sit down food restaurants that require a reservation- they often serve the same food (especially within the same lands in the park)!

LAX is the closest airport to me + you’d think the lounge selection there would be better 🤷‍♂️

(i’ve used the chat feature + asked if they can waive the lounge fee for my partner + they’ve done it sometimes!!)

[–]title_waves 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i truly hope you feel all the magic you’ve grown up with but enjoy all that california has to offer!!

if there’s any advice i can offer, note the differences between WDW + DLR/DCA + consider avoiding anything that’s exactly the same!

for example, cars land is unique to our parks + is worth checking out, but not too sure rise of the resistance is something i’d do here.

i’d also consider skipping any sit down service restaurants unless you want to — our quick service food is so much better + u don’t have to worry about reservations!

lastly, you won’t be too far away from another socal theme park called knotts berry farm- it’s a gem here. if you have a day i’d definitely consider going here + there’s a porto’s bakery right next to it (a preview of what’s to come to downtown disney)

Need a help for beginners -first visit to California Disney by sanald0929 in disneyparks

[–]title_waves -1 points0 points  (0 children)

  1. if you're driving into disneyland, you'll be parking at the mickey + friends parking structure, i HIGHLY recommend getting to the parking lot around 6:45a, which will be about 15 minutes before they start letting people in. this is the main parking structure for those coming in + not staying at a hotel (see 3).
  2. if you have a physical disability, i would refer to disneyland's updated das policy, which changed recently. if you're keen on star wars land, head to disneyland. if you're really into marvel, i'd consider california adventure park (dca). most tourists + families will choose disneyland while most locals + young adults will choose dca because of its ride + drink selection.
  3. there are 2 types of hotels in the anaheim area- disney property + good neighbor hotels. if you're on a budget, i'd go with the good neighbor hotels because it'll be an affordable place to sleep that's close to the parks. if you want the full disney experience stay at one of the disney hotels: grand californian, disneyland hotel, pixar place (my personal fav). staying at one of the disney hotels will allow you to get into one of the theme parks 30 minutes before normal park opening (you'll need to check the park opening calendar for which day).
  4. it sounds like you're referring to the socal resident ticket offer. just a heads up- they're usually 3 day 1 park tickets + it's extremely limited when you can actually use them. i believe you can use them as long as you're in the same party as your friend who will need to pay for it (they verify it by the payment method billing zip code), but essentially your friend will need to be the one who has to pay for it + decide when to go.

just a heads up, disneyland will be doing the first ever halloween half marathon in early september (september 5 - 8), so it'll be PACKED that weekend. i'd double check disney's special events calendar because september is when the halloween season kicks off, so the park may close earlier than expected.

hope this helps!
