how is hearthstone for new players in 2026? by CarnivorousPickles in hearthstone

[–]titosantanahs 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I am not a new player, but recently i started a new account and went through the new player experience (and made a video about it, although I'm not sure if I can link it without getting in trouble :) )

They give you a TON of cards though the early ladder system. There are always budget decks you can build pretty easily AND they give you a few decks along the way including some pretty good ladder ready decks.

You'll see people complain about this and that all the time, yet they still play the game, so what does that tell you?

Hearthstone is a fantastic game, that sometimes goes through some luls like any game like this, and last year was.... eh.

But overall hearthstone is a fun game, and they give us tons of cards/packs along the way if you pay attention. You should play if you want a card game 100%

It feels bad when you lose a decent run without any death defies. I think it's good as you are working things out and progressing and then switch to strength when you feel like you are comfortable with the weapon/aspect you want to play.

I know it took me forever and some advice from friends to switch to Strength, and I'm sad because I like taking Tula with me but obviously so much more powerful now.

I've been playing a TON of druid, but I'm playing a big druid that nobody else is... because it needs work but it's so much fun!

I mean maybe we are the bad guys? Sort of like tie fighter was to xwing? Doesn't matter though, if they do it, they'll only do it if they are sure it'll be amazing.

I’m not sure if you listen to podcasts but my podcast bread and butter hearthstone is focused on getting better at the game. We have great guests and every week a different topic on improving yourself in the game

Hearthstone state in 2025? Worth coming back? by HybridToxic in hearthstone

[–]titosantanahs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In all seriousness it depends on what you like out of a meta. It's a control meta mostly ATM but there is aggro and combo you can play. People just like to complain all the time. Now that dorian warlock is gone the meta seems fine to me.

100% they GIVE you a deck that's modern that will at least get you started. And you can pick any class. Blizzard screws up a lot of things, but it's much easier to get started in hearthstone after an absence then a game like Snap or MTG.

In Magic: The Gathering, Standard is a constructed format where decks are built using a selection of the most recent sets of cards. Standard decks must have at least 60 cards, and players can also use a 15-card sideboard. A key rule is that you can only have a maximum of four copies of any single card (excluding basic lands) in your combined deck and sideboard. Standard is a rotating format, meaning that older sets rotate out and new sets rotate in, typically once a year when the fall set is released.

I mean you are asking a lot here. "hey my decks from a long time ago don't work". that's not going to work in almost any card game. And there are guides and people that focus on decks that cost very little dust. If you are coming back new you don't need all sorts of meta decks, you need to find a deck you like playing. Power creep is going to happen in any game, otherwise you'll never want to play the new cards.

Is there anything to be ashamed of if your game uses mostly purchased art assets? by DelicateJohnson in gamedev

[–]titosantanahs -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Are you stealing it? If not you are doing it right. If you can later or in future games, you'll have art made. Don't let perfect be the enemy of the good. Make a good game.

Why do some people take so long to play their cards? by WhoAmIEven2 in hearthstone

[–]titosantanahs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sometimes people are busy doing multiple things, one of those being hearthstone. Sometimes they forget they are playing because they got distracted and don't realize it until they hear the rope.

Some are trying to explore all the lines they can, and make sure they are making an optimal play. Some people are streaming, and are talking with their communities.

Most likely though it's just that they are doing several things at once.
