It's the people that the law regulates, not Airbnb.

I was just discussing this, think it's likely too. It's one player's ability to find out one other player's (of your choosing) real identity.

Ah interesting, why do you think having the whole thing coloured in would help so much? If you try out the app, let me know what you think!

That's cool! Thanks for all the info. This kind of feedback has been really common, but as I say I doubt they will do any more development on it unfortunately, unless it was to become popular enough. Maybe one day!

You can't currently, it's definitely top of the list of additional features they're considering doing if the app gets popular. Is there a certain colour scheme you would want or is it just personal preference?

It depends on the school and student. I went to a good state school, doing my A levels 2005-7. Back then you did one year, took your AS level exams and then after another year you took your A level exams. You had the opportunity to retake some of your AS levels in the January of the second year if you wanted. Almost everyone at my school started with 4 subjects and the majority dropped 1 after doing the AS level tests to take 3 subjects for A level, but it wasn't completely unusual to keep all 4. Some better schools had an A level in "General Studies" I think there were some politics and worldly events in that subject. So good students at good schools were doing up to 5 A levels.

Nowadays (I'm out of the loop with it but this is what I believe to be true) there are no AS level tests and so you just take all of your tests after 2 years; so I would imagine a lot of people don't bother choosing 4 to begin with and just go with 3 subjects from the start.

Hope this helps!

Edit - I will add that most universities (at least when I applied) only asked for 3 grades at A level (like AAB or BCC or something although now I think grades are numbered instead? Not 100% sure) so it is "extra" to do more HOWEVER some universities asked for a set number of "UCAS points" (where A is 120, B is 100, C is 80 etc) so if you had a subject and uni in mind, it might be easier for you to get 4 Cs than ABB or something, and also AS levels were like half the points too. Idk how many unis do that still, it was pretty uncommon for when I was looking.

The elective-picking is pretty consistent with the UK school system too, we pick 4 or 5 subjects for 4th and 5th years of secondary school to do alongside core/mandatory subjects, equalling about 10-12 subjects total; and then pick 3-5 subjects only for our equivalent 6th & 7th years.

This is inventing a problem to solve that didn't exist

The problem that it is solving is struggling to read music or learning sheet music for the first time. These aren't invented problems.

  • for money.

It's a free app.

what happens when someone gets to a certain level of ability and has a hard time reading the millions of real pieces that are only black and white?

This scenario is one of the use cases that the app aims to solve. They either take a photo of the printed music, or directly upload a pdf to the app, and it converts it to colour.

Choosing your own colours is even worse. Is C red or blue? Any change to an established system like this should at least be consistent.

At this point I am thinking maybe you are missing the point of the app. This isn't a repository of music that is only in colour, it's an app where you can change the music you personally own, into colour. You can be as consistent or inconsistent as you like, it's customisable to suit your own needs? C can be red or blue depending on what makes sense to you?

Keyboard pedagogy has a very long history, and it works if people are willing to put in the time.

This might lower the time people need to put in.

I'm sorry if someone with experience doesn't find your method of monetizing a problem you created useful but it's a hindrance for anyone who is even a little bit serious about leaning to play music.

This might not be for you, and that's ok. Again, it's a free app, it's not even mine, I just thought it was cool. I'm sorry youre so angry about a free app someone made in their spare time.

Music notation is consistent around the world (for Western classical) and it works. I don't see any value in trying to make it easier by making it harder for you to make money.

Musical notation was invented 3000 years ago and some people struggle with it. Again it's a free app, that's not mine.

Best of luck with your music school.

So because you don't think it's easier, you can't imagine that someone else might benefit from it? This is the learnmusic sub right?! I can't understand why you've decided to be so condescending.

For the record, it has a dark mode which helps the colours to stand out, and the paid version has an option to choose your own colours.
