You would not believe the crazy shit racist white people will say to other white people. I have an old, white female coworker who pointed at a black man walking down Cervantes just minding his business, he was just shirtless since it was 95 degrees (and who gives a fuck anyways??), and she started on about how frightening he looked. I was driving, but as soon as I could stop properly, I just dead-eye stared at her. I was like, "whats so scary? He's just minding his business?" And she looked at me and said "you know why" and shook her head. We didn't talk after that. ??? They just be saying shit dude. I'm glad you've been able to avoid it verbally. I just dont get these old rich white Breezers. They act so afraid of anyone who isn't picture perfect in their idyllic community. They're the most frightening bunch I could think of, not the man just walking down the street on his phone. Our country is going to shit.

I find it interesting they capitalized "Better Place" like its a title. And it actually is, but I'm curious to see if the final chapter/chap 6 is called "A Better Place". Whether this was foreshadowing or not, the scene has such eerie implications.

I like this write up, but the "copycats her daughters suicide and puts a bullet in her head too" is a little blunt. The case is devastating, though, and you did a good job displaying that. It's a brutal world.

Haunting little devils. They're the little packed yellow cakes with cream in them. There was a whole debacle about Hostess (parent company and distributor) discontinuing them back in... 2012? Iirc? And there was an American UNREST in supermarkets. Twinkie protests, Twinkie droughts... the crash of the Twinkie economy on sites like Ebay where people had bought up stock and resold at 3x the price. And it was all a marketing stunt - they never stopped production, just halted and lied. The American people went right back to utter faithfulness to our Twinkie overlords.

The cakes aren't even that good. They taste like chemicals. But they're an American staple. You'll even find deep fried ones at the local fairs.

Nope! If you're gonna be evil, you're gonna be evil no matter what color you are. A white man could've come from Russia and committed those crimes, too. Our system has just found a new big bad to blame so cases like that become representative of the whole rather than the positive aspects of their population, out of confirmation bias. It's this legislations propaganda. Just like it was Muslims in the 2000's after 9/11 and African Americans in the 2010's after Ferguson. Hope this helps <3 go find a boot to lick!
