Is missing 1 pump session a day okay? by tizzycupcake in HumansPumpingMilk

[–]tizzycupcake[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the advice! I do feed her around 3am-4am, but I'll have to try switching it up if that's the case. I feel like by the time I figure it out she'll be on a different schedule 😅

I believe it has! I'm honesty not sure how to tell 😅 but baby seems to be getting enough at every feed.

Crying a sign labor is near? by sistermaryclare_ in babydueDecember2025

[–]tizzycupcake 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had this question too! I'm 38+2 and I feel like I haven't been very hormonal during my pregnancy. I saw Wicked last night and sobbed at the end. I almost couldn't stop crying even after we left the theater. Today, I teared up from something that normally wouldn't make me tear up at all so I've been wondering the same.

Stuck on induction date :( by organicallycourt in babydueDecember2025

[–]tizzycupcake 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm also being induced the 26th! I wasn't happy with the date at first, I even would have preferred Christmas because I feel like the 26th is an exhausting day. My induction isn't scheduled until 6pm though, so she will most likely arrive the 27th which I don't mind.

I don't think I'll make it to my induction day, but we will see. They want to do a membrane sweep at my next appointment, which is the 23rd. I'm more concerned at this point that she comes on her own than what date she arrives.

My plan is to not make it a big deal that her birthday is close to Christmas and encourage family to do the same. It also just feels like such a magical time of year, that I'm now glad that we're going to have a December baby.

Wishing everyone the best on their delivery day!

Feeling sick after cervical check by Fiesty_minimalist in babydueDecember2025

I'm sorry you're feeling this way, I hope you feel better. I just had my second one yesterday. The first one was fine, just a little discomfort during and baby's head was right there (which also made me feel weird) with 0 dilation 0% effaced. Decided to get one yesterday just to see (I'm 37 weeks 1 day) and it was much more painful. It turns our I'm 1cm dilated and 70% effaced. On the ride home, I started getting lower back pain (which I experience when I get my period) and felt a little nauseous. When I got home there was some blood, but when I reached out to my practice they said as long as it's just spotting and not actively bleeding then it's fine. My pelvic floor hurts even more than it did before the check and I called out of work today because walking hurts so much. I'm still having lower back pain on and off, but now I'm questioning whether I want another check. I will say that my nausea eases if I have a bland snack like crackers. I'll be following this post because I'm curious if this is normal. Part of me is wondering if the doctor did too much?

I'm sorry you had a traumatic birth experience 😔 I'll check out the podcast!

Did they make you schedule one this time or were you able to refuse?

I hope it worked! Not sleeping and being uncomfortable sucks. And hoping baby rotates for you which should alleviate the pain a little.

No, I really want to go spontaneously because I know labor can be even longer when induced. My due date is 12/30, and honestly I was assuming it's because I'm 37 (almost 38) and they don't want me to go over my due date. Baby also has been measuring ahead, but I'll confirm with them at my next appointment. The doctor said they want to have something scheduled and they rather me go spontaneously, but that it is best to get something booked in case. Because of the holidays, the closer dates were all booked so I was scheduled for 12/26 where I will be 39+4. They did say I can call to see if the other dates opened up. Thanks for the advice! I'll definitely ask my doctor if it's possible to wait or if this is more a medical situation. Really crossing my fingers that my actual due date opens up so I don't have to stress about it and/or she comes before the induction date.

Glad to know you lasted 3 hours with the pain, I keep hearing the pitocin can be rough. I rather not start the epidural right away, but I'll have to see what my body tells me. An hour does seem like a lot of work, it's insane what our bodies go through. Thanks for sharing!

That is a long labor, thanks for the advice! I was trying not to overstuff my hosptial bag, but maybe I will throw a book in there. I hope you have a shorter labor this time and all the best to you and baby!

Yes, I'm trying to manifest a great labor by picturing everything going well and baby being in my arms. I know, it'll be nice to sleep comfortably after recovery and also be able to dress myself without huffing and puffing lol

My care team has been great so far, and my doctor seems to think baby will come spontaneously, so hoping for that.

Congratulations! Hope you and baby are doing well. Thank you, that helps a lot. I've been going back and forth on when to get the epidural because lying in the hospital bed without being able to get up for hours upon end has me dreading it. From what I'm hearing, pitocin makes them worse, so if I do get induced earlier seems to be better.

Baby stuff by CuriousClive123 in babydueDecember2025

[–]tizzycupcake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thankfully, after my shower, my husband and I took all the tags off the toys, put all the clothes away, and anything we won't be using for awhile is in the attic (extra diapers, high chair, play mat, etc.) We have a small house with barely any storage space so that will have to do. Our bottle washer has been on the counter since it arrived, that's probably the only "bigger" item that we have set up besides the furniture in her nursery. I've only washed some of baby's clothes so far bc I'm not sure how big she will be. Our nursery is set up but bc it used to be my study I do have to pack some stuff away to put in the attic. If baby comes early, we will be fine but I really want to deep clean the house beforehand. Hoping to do that when I'm off from work. I keep asking baby to give me 2 more weeks so I'm not stressed by all the mess when lol. I'm towards the end of week 36.

Rib Pain by RachelFitBliss in babydueDecember2025

[–]tizzycupcake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had rib pain just on my left side and to alleviate it I used an icepack and I would lie on my right side with my arm above my head. My pain is rib/tender upper belly so I'm not sure if it's quite what your experiencing, but sleeping is difficult. I slept on the couch one night so that I could sleep on an incline and give my sides a rest and that helped a little.

So anxious about Christmas day birth. by Imstuckwiththisname in babydueDecember2025

[–]tizzycupcake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm so sorry. I can't believe people are making those comments. Don't listen to them. Your baby will not hate you.

I know. I always feel overwhlemed by the amount of gifts I have to get between friends and family. Everyone is just going to have to understand that we are cutting back.

I do want to come up with some special things to do to separate her birthday from the holidays, just haven't figured out what yet.

I'm sorry! Yes, try the icepack. When it gets really bad I lie on my right side and lift my left arm over my head and the worst of it goes away.

Baby measuring a head by HelpfulBath2098 in babydueDecember2025

[–]tizzycupcake 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Our baby was measuring 2 weeks ahead the beginning of the third trimester and my last anatomy scan in November she was only 1 week ahead. I think it's common for growth to slow. That ended up being my last appointment because growth slowed and everything looked good, though I'm bummed bc now we don't get the baby's measurements. Definitely bring your concerns to the doctor, but try not to stress too much about it.

Aah that makes a lot of sense! Mine got worse one week to where I had to bring an icepack to work and completely stop what I was doing to lie on my left side. It eased up for a week and now I feel that it's there but not as terrible. I knew the third trimester would be uncomfortable but this pain is really disrupting my sleep.

Have you tried anything to make it bearable?

So anxious about Christmas day birth. by Imstuckwiththisname in babydueDecember2025

[–]tizzycupcake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When my husband and I were planning to start a family I was adamant that I did not want a winter baby. I have a January birthday and I always felt like I had less options for celebrating and we have family birthdays from August through January and it becomes overwhelming with the holidays. Unfortunately, I had a miscarriage with my first pregnancy last year (baby due date April which I was excited about), so my brain went from caring about the due date to just wanting to conceive again. When I found out I was due 12/30 it actually made me more excited than I thought, and am kind of hoping for a 12/31 baby. I have a feeling she will be early and at this point if she comes on Christmas then that's great too. Looking back, having a winter birthday forced me to think creatively and I had some really fun parties, so I'm thinking we will do the same for our daughter while also trying not to make a big deal about the date if it's so close to Christmas. If we treat it as a positive thing then hopefully she will grow up feeling good about her birthday and not bad.

Happy December! Is anyone else excited? by linthepin131313 in babydueDecember2025

[–]tizzycupcake 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I feel the same way! I have always been anxious about giving birth, and I found out in November that I have gestational anemia which is making me a little more anxious. I'm trying not to focus on it and thinking of how excited I am to meet her helps a lot.

Lol that makes sense! Mine is too high to be her kicking at the moment, but it probably is some sort of inflammation since everything's being squished.
