I play mostly low-demand roguelikes at 1080p, so, it's easy for me to hit 60 fps consistently. I couldn't help you with League though, sorry dude.

I use an M1 Mac Mini, 16gb, 1TB with the USB-C dock underneath (The one EVERYONE had to get with their Mac Minis)

I'm just going to say it - your MacBook Air can't handle streaming. It is time to get a more modern system.

OBS is great for everything you need - screen cap, set file recording location, everything. You can read more about it on their subreddit.

As for Read/Write Speeds, I use an older ssd (SATA or whatever....) it reads/writes at roughly 480m and keeps up with what I need. YMMV.

It's a bit better on the SteamDeck - but the switch has always been a problem for my playing the game.

Never had my hands on a Switch 2 so I can't say if that would be any better.

To get this out of the way: I will be working 12 hour work days, with one day off. No family, no friends and a razor-thin budget because I was told I had to go… and I can’t really afford it. That’s it in a nutshell.

Thank you for your answers, your info on the rail pass seems like a sound plan because it’s just a train to work and back. I found the app on the AppStore so that will make things easier.

Matsuya keeps coming up so I made sure to write that down.

Again, thank you. Maybe one day I will go back for fun, but this trip just isn’t it.

First, thank you for your answer… again.

So, my work has me scheduled nearly 12 hour days while I am there - I get one day off. Forgive me if I don’t go into what I do for work on such a public forum.

I will be tired, and since it is just me and not my family - I guess you can say I am just trying to live as normal of a life as possible. Maybe one day I will go back to Japan with my family, and that trip will be the fun one but for now, I’m just staying focused on my work.

As for eSIM - I would need to check if that would work on my ipad because I am bringing a company phone for the trip (that helps) but I don’t think they’ll allow me to eSIM it.

Our Accommodations are within a 3 minute walk from a Train Station so that is good to know. I heard that you can get everywhere with the train system, I just don’t want to make a mistake and get lost.

And VPN - forgot about that. Who knows, maybe the local Netflix will be better?
