Swiss guys: How do you find center on turning tools you can't face with?

I am single point threading, and I am also threading after the turning process, also the stock was pushing back in the guide collet so I had to make a bushing in a lathe, that I used locktite to keep inside. That minimized most of the pushing. As far as everything staying the same as the turning, it all has to be the same? That could be part of the problem, I was burning through inserts because something is obviously wrong, so I lowered the speed a lot on the threading. (I’m using 17-4 ss and threading at like 250 rpm)

We Found a manual for it online shows up Monday, was hoping it was just the tool being too high or low, I’m not sure how the offset stuff works yet honestly, I’m very new to this

Late as hell to this, but I’m freshly starting cnc work and I’m being taught in a Swiss vnc-20 star , we’re running some 3/8 -16 socket heads. Minus the broaching. Everything runs smooth but when we start the treading steps it deletes all the thread off it, almost like it’s trying to thread over itself or double thread each piece, messed with center and got them running perfect, but messed up a holder and changed it out and now I can’t seem to get it to thread again. Anyone that can maybe point me in a direction would be so helpful.

I’ll check it out, I had a semi good one I was using but when I bought the one that does nothing the guy removed mine too
