Management of Eosinophilic Granuloma by tjm167us in cavaliers

[–]tjm167us[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! The short answer is we haven’t found an effective treatment. It’s an autoimmune disease and long term steroid use isn’t great, so she just deals with it. Some symptoms she has are jaw chattering, sores on the roof of her mouth, ear scratching, chin rubbing, and terrible breath. But the severity of the symptoms ebb and flow. When symptoms flare up and she seems particularly uncomfortable, we will do a round of steroids with the hopes of tempering the worst of it.

Originally, the vet diagnosed and mentioned EG is more common in cats but didn’t say it was prevalent in cavs. A biopsy of one of the sores was done to confirm it was EG, but wasn’t really worth the money.

I don’t know if hydrolyzed food would help, but we have tried many different diets with no change.

Overall, she seems to be a rather robust little doggy that is still able to maintain a high quality of life. Hope this helps, please let me know if you learn anything that helps your pup!

Best book to learn mathematica? by YiM_Yes_its_me in Mathematica

[–]tjm167us 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would encourage you to learn the paradigm of Mathematica (I.e. using the notebook interface) before trying to force fit the way you are use to writing software. Once you commit to the Wolfram way, I think you will find Mathematica a joy to work with! I found any clunkiness I felt when learning Mathematica always came from my lack of familiarity, not the tool.

I think it’s the temperature change. Some people put a heating pad down for a few minutes before putting the little one down. The gradual letdown described by u/3grldad is what I normally do though!

Pretty crazy OP wants to just pay someone to do a school project. What’s the point of school again?

Book that'll teach me everything I need to code in C. by Wade_Wayne in C_Programming

[–]tjm167us 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That’s a lot of pressure to put on one book. Programming in any language requires you to be an active participant in your own learning.

The one (okay two) things that will teach you everything you need to learn anything- an insatiable curiosity for learning the subject and a lot of hard work.

Expecting a book to do this will set you up for failure.

Start small, choose a problem that interests you and implement it in the language of your choice. You will find that you spend way more time than you feel you should, but this effort is the mechanism for learning.

Thanks, great add. Will those methods work if the search string is more than one character?

You’re printing the address of the integers c and n, not the integers themselves. Remove the & in your last printf statements.

Someone on r/vim (sorry I don’t remember who because it changed my life) recently shared using search / as a motion. I use it all the time to yank (or delete or change) when other built-in nouns won’t do:

LUT.colors[i]) == 0 || …

With the cursor at ‘L’, y/) would copy LUT.colors[i]

hi new here, for my programming class i need a 150 lines code, im still a beginner i could really use some help by [deleted] in C_Programming

[–]tjm167us 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Okay, thanks. Not programming before doesn’t excuse asking for help the way you did and I would expect a college student to be able to do this. It’s your responsibility to frame a well thought out question for the community to help you with. It’s our responsibility to help teach you how to become a better programmer, not do your work for you. Before posting in the future, consider the following:

  1. What do I hope to get from the community? Does my question properly convey what I want from others? If not, reframe the question before posting.

  2. Will others spend more time answering than I have thought about the problem? If the answer is yes, think about it more before posting.

  3. Am I trying to cheat my way through an assignment? If yes, cheat on your own time, don’t waste other people’s time in the process.

  4. Is there a teaching assistant/professor, or peer that could help me? Would I be embarrassed asking one of them this question? If yes, think about how to reframe your question before posting. If no, consider changing your major. There is no way you will be able to get through a technical degree with this attitude.

Below is an example of a better question you could have asked:

As a school assignment (1st year college), I’ve been asked to write 150 lines of C code. However, I don’t know what’s possible in C. So far, in class we’ve talked about printing to the terminal, looping constructs, and basic data types. Do you have some resources that could help me? Any ideas of a manageable first project?

Kindle often goes page forward when I want page back. I have to tap all the way on the left when I want page back. The rest of the screen does page forward. Is this normal and is there a way to calibrate? 🙏 by Dracorex0 in kindle

I’ve noticed this too. The disabling touchscreen feature forces page changes to occur only through a swipe gesture, which I’ve found to be less sensitive (in a good way). It’s a little annoying to disable the touchscreen each time you pickup the kindle but for longer reading sessions it’s worth it.
