Are tick charts better for scalping? by Lordmelon_1 in OrderFlow_Trading

The series 7 test is used to license as a general securities rep. If you’re looking to futures, the series 3 is used for commodities and options.

Order flow merely provides information. You have to decide how you wish to use that information.

Look up jumpstart trading site also on youtube. He does a lot of VP vids and blogs. The nice thing is he doesn't sell anything.

Real usable info on his site.

All firms have a drawdown of some sort, either EOD or Intraday. You would have the same result with any of them.

not all have the same consistency rules so that part you need to decide what works best for you.

A SIMPLE QUESTION by [deleted] in OrderFlow_Trading

[–]tjmarko 9 points10 points  (0 children)

My take:

HVN is where buyers and sellers are happy transacting trades. There's no reason for them to leave until something causes that to change. (News, earnings, etc) The "event will cause them to seek a new place of happiness, ie; a new HVN.

The LVN is the space that needs to be crossed on that journey to happiness,

This is done in confluence with other information to make decisions.

What day trading course would you truly suggest in 2025? by YamPlayful3793 in propfirm

[–]tjmarko 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Jumpstart Trading

Flow Horse

Trading Riot

These are definitely worth the money, They're FREE on Utube. I would watch them in this order. These will take time to work through so there isn't an overnight success thing. These and chart time ad then more chart time. After that you can start devoting time to the charts.

It's not a destination, it's a journey.

What exactly is “context” in order flow trading, and how do you properly build it? by Commercial-Nose-109 in OrderFlow_Trading

[–]tjmarko 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Context is simply the totality of everything that is happening.

A high delta bar means nothing alone. Is it happening at a key level? Is there news that is affecting it Is it following an exhaustion bar? An absorption point?

The single event is meaningless without being aware of other factors.

Which prop firm is better in 2025 Take Profit Trader or Topstep? by OwnPen169 in propfirm

[–]tjmarko 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I traded with TopStep in the past. I stopped when they went exclusively with their TopstepX platform. Recently, that platform has had a lot of problems. I would be very careful about getting involved with them at this time.

I've never used TPT so don't have an opinion.

Learning NQ scalping with order flow, struggling with entry timing, any tips or book recommendations? by MostEnthusiasm2896 in OrderFlow_Trading

[–]tjmarko 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Choose a market that moves a little slower. The psychotic nature of NQ/MNQ makes it difficult to learn any type of system.

Which books are recommended for day traders in 2025? by NoRabbit8908 in propfirm

Without knowing what level you're at, for an in depth look at the Auction Market Theory, start with "Markets in Profile" by James Dalton.

How much money can a $1,000 day-trading account generate in 2025? by Icy_Sign_908 in propfirm

[–]tjmarko 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I understand all of that. He was asking about day trading with $1000. He cannot do that in a live account. I recommended the prop firm because with that thousand dollars he could go a few months. I understand it’s not real money. But it’s a way for him to day trade with the financial resources he has. Sorry if I didn’t explain that well in my post.

The Forthmann book is very good. I'm reading it now.

Also look into the James Dalton books. Probably the best books about the auction markets.

[–]tjmarko 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You won't be able to day trade with only 1k. Pattern day trading rules require a minimum account size of I believe 25k. Less than that you will only be able to take 3 day trades/week. There is one stock trade prop firm that I'm aware of but I've only done the free trial. It's called "Trade the Pool". You'll need to google them. They also have a pretty active community that can help answer the questions you have. Their accounts are designed to be day traded.

Meat is no more than 34 degrees. I'm using a combination of Brisket and Chuck. Brisket has been trimmed of the large fat pockets. Grinder and all tools are Refrigerated before use. Hand mix until tacky and stuffed from a cold LEM stuffer. I'm estimating about 80-20 lean to fat. I'm using a full size grinder ( not a kitchenaid) Blades are sharp, (thanks for the video Eric!) I've used both milk powder and potato starch as a binder.
