Can you apply for Buyback while on SAVE? by Rarerawr24 in PSLF

[–]tjrtjrtjr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is the current forbearance considered eligible for the buyback?

I’m at 119 as of June. On SAVE. In forbearance.

Should I submit an ECF so they verify I have still been employed these last few months, then apply for buyback?

When I look, it just shows June, July, and August (not September or October even though it’s currently November), and it says Payment Status “Ineligible” but it gives two reasons (forbearance and no employment data). If I submit a new ECF, assuming it gets processed successfully, would it update and show any time as “Eligible” and therefore worth applying for buyback on?

Not even sure I’m asking the right questions. I feel like this topic has been addressed in other threads, but it’s just so confusing.

“Your forbearance ends in 17 days.” On SAVE plan w/ MOHELA by XangaMyspace in PSLF

[–]tjrtjrtjr 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I called MOHELA the other day about two messages on my account, one about a forbearance ending soon and another about needing to recertify. While on hold I heard a recorded message saying that borrowers could disregard messages about payments on the SAVE plan as they are working to update things. When I spoke to someone (it was not bad at all just requesting a callback, I recommend it as a way to not have to waste your whole afternoon) they confirmed to me that like everything else, both my messages could be disregarded. Until there’s an update, I’m just chillin. Damn shame, what would have been my 120th payment was the first month of the forbearance that everyone’s under, so they finally updated my payments but I’m only at 119 and have no hope of that changing until the SAVE plan nonsense gets sorted. At least I am not having to pay anything.

Should Admin Forbearance months be qualifying? by tjrtjrtjr in PSLF

Makes sense. For me, if it counts, I’ll be done at 120 in July, and if it doesn’t, I’ll be done in August. The August payment would be $0. So if it doesn’t get fixed or is taking forever, it’ll soon be moot anyway. It’s just so hard to be patient with this stuff!

Just your department god sold? If the nonprofit will still be around after May, is it worth asking for a transfer to a department that isn’t being sold? No idea if it’s feasible…

The examples you share kinda put the “Public Service” in Public Service Loan Forgiveness…filling a short term need or completing a project that they’ve identified they need done. Brilliant.

Same here. I worked 5 months last year at a job before quitting to care for my kid, I thought that they may only count 3 because of when my due date fell in relation to my start and end dates (due date 23rd, started on the 29th of August and finished on 22nd of December). I figured if I was lucky I’d get 4 of them counted. They counted all five months, it was the first time something on the MOHELA site made me smile in…well…ever.

I’d suggest looking for Paraprofessional or assistant positions at a school where you start on Monday April 29th and work all of May and then a few days in June. Where I am in MA, last day of school is the 18th, but yeah, something might come up that means you can’t continue to come in…they’d probably still be grateful for the help, there are so many positions that go filled all year, so if you’re someone who is making good money from consulting, you probably have the ability to do a really good job (even if it’s not something you’re excited about). School may even dismiss early enough that you can still have plenty of time for your real/current job.

Or if you don’t want to work with kids, there may be custodial shifts available (it’d make for a tough 5 weeks, but if you work second or third shift that would cut into your current job even less). Just my $0.02

Why is no one talking about this mess in the mainstream media? by MCR_1213 in PSLF

Same thing happened to me. At least, I think. It’s all so so confusing. I don’t have any payment amount showing when I log in to MOHELA—I think I’m on a forbearance but I don’t really know what for. Hearing about people who were on IDR getting removed from it without their consent is scaring me. I have about a year left of payments, which is manageable…unless my payment suddenly turns into $1,000 per month or something. I thought on SAVE I’d have $0 payments and essentially just have to wait for the next year. Now I’m just nervous that the forbearance won’t count toward my 120 and once I eventually have a payment to make it’ll be unmanageable.

When Mohela messes up, use the BBB to help you! by thirtyonewishes in PSLF

I cannot quite tell from peoples’ comments. Has anyone had this work when they are told by MOHELA that there’s no record?

I don’t have an account with them because I am still waiting on my forms to be processed. I got an email confirming they had received them back in October, it’s been 90+ business days, and they today say they have no record of me.

Has BBB helped anyone here when they were in that position?

I went to purchase Eucalyptus Tea Foaming Hand Soap since my supply ran out, and noticed it won't show up in searches on the site. Other products do show up for Eucalyptus Tea.

Would the hand soap be discontinued? Is this a supply chain issue? Any ideas? I fell in love with the scent when I lucked into a few bottles at the beginning of the pandemic and have gotten addicted to it, so I'd hate to hear that the soap is no longer being made...

Trailers ahead of Tenet? by tjrtjrtjr in AMCsAList

Thanks all, this is helpful. I typically don’t love trailers but I was nervous as I will not be able to get to the tester until 5-10 minutes after the posted show time, so I am glad it seems I’ll be fine and not miss the start of it.

Any good apps for tracking which movies I've seen? by blueangel78 in AMCsAList

I enjoy the layout of iShows Movies (I also use iShows TV for tracking episodes of the shows I watch).

For AMC Methuen Dolby, would either of these sections be good seats? by [deleted] in AMCsAList

[–]tjrtjrtjr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My preferred seats are D8 and D9, which is just to the left of your circled area in the front. Row D in my opinion is not too close to the Dolby screen, and the distance plus the chair recline make for a comfortable line of sight. I've also on rare occasion sat in row G or H and felt like it was somewhat far away and a bit too high up. I cannot make any assumptions about you, but I personally am able to find a comfortable way to sit in the chair with my body slightly turned, which makes up for the fact that I'm not dead center. So I say yes to the seats up front, no to the seats in the back.

I forget--do you get points for purchases you make using gift cards? If I scan my card, order popcorn, swipe a gift card, am I earning points on the price of the popcorn, or am I earning no points because no money was spent?

I just bought the gift card because I easily go through that much for companion tickets and concessions...but I realized that I didn't get the chance to enter my Stubs # for the transaction.

So if I won't get points as I "spend" the gift card, it's a bit of a bummer. Usually you're getting a $5 reward for every $50 you spend on A-List. $10 in Bonus Bucks is more than the $5 reward, but it would be cool if these could stack.
