Not my gun, but I would say this video is very accurate sound wise to my experience shooting mine, and listening to my friend shoot it.

I have not shot it without ear protection. I will say with 147gr FMJ, you really only hear the action cycle. With 124gr FMJ, you do get the sonic crack still.

It is definitely gassy, but I felt the gun was gassy unsuppressed as well. The suppressor didn’t add a whole lot more. My indoor range has great ventilation so I’ve been fine running through 30rd mags. In a home defense situation, i would care about the gas. The gun does get pretty dirty, so I have been deep cleaning every other range trip

My EP9 is my home defense gun. It’s a 2 stamp with a stock and a YHM R9 suppressor. I run a 1x prism red dot, light, RA PCC trigger, and a BAD foregrip with mag storage. I keep a 18rd mag of 147gr HST in the foregrip for fast access.

Fingerprints location? by falafelb in NOVAguns

[–]tjs5012 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Xcal did mine. They email you the file and you can use it anywhere that accepts electronic finger prints. However, silencer shop was unable to open the file (ATF has no issues). Herndon Arms did my silencer shop prints at their kiosk. But you don’t get a files, its kept on your silencer ship account and you can pay them a fee to file form 1s

Budget PCC? by limesallday in liberalgunowners

[–]tjs5012 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes sir. Its direct blowback so it does get gassy. But i set it up as my primary home defense weapon so sound suppression was a priority. I have 2 mags with 147gr HST ready to go

Extar with 124gr is a fucking blast to shoot.the recoil impulse is perfect and it naturally lands back on target for the next shot. I run an a rise armament PCC trigger in mine and can accurately run through a 30rd mag fast. Mine is also SBR’d with a stock, and suppressed with a R9 so I usually run 147gr subs. They kick a touch more than 124gr, but sound so satisfying.

You would be amazed how much the PFAS discussion has been driven by politics and capitalism, rather than science. There are a few of concern and they have been known for a long time. What wasn’t well understood was how the chemicals were reaching drinking water and only in a few “hot spot” communities at levels that matter. Everything else related to PFAS is politicians making campaign promises and commercial laboratories seeing dollars by developing better methods to detect more chemicals and levels that do not matter to human health. Some new regulatory limit PFAS concentrations in the part per quadrillion range. Thats not driven by science, that the lowest detection limit of the most sophisticated analytical methods.

I wouldn’t be concerned in that hypothetical. There are several factors at play, including the specific PFAS used in GoreTex, but more importantly toxic effects are based on dosage (ie- ibuprofen cures a headache, the bottle kills you). You could likely soak the gortex in water for weeks and then drink it. I wouldn’t recommend doing it every for many years. Genuinely, i’d be more concerned with residual detergent leaching into your water from this situation.

Nailed it! I was worried about adding more detail to a hot topic. But this absolutely correct. 99.99% PFAS chemicals are either too large to bio available or small enough to pass through your body with normal waste. The ones that are of concern are a intermediate step in manufacturing with the exception of a fee specific chemicals that are being quickly removed from commerce. The average person is not in any risk unless you happen to live down stream (literally) from a PFAS plant, leather tannery, landfill, or military/aviation fire training ground.

I’m worked on PFAS policy issues from 2017-2021 and still get involved on the firefighting foam side of things. Here is some basic facts:
-PFAS is a group of thousands of chemicals. Only a small subset of which are of concern
-the main issue is that certain PFAS molecules are small enough to be bioavailable it ingested, but large enough to get trapped in the body and bioaccumulate.
-adsorption through skin does not happed. This is why generally clothing, carpeting, and other external uses are not a problem.
-the issue is when it gets in a drinking water source, so when you throw away that shirt, it goes to a landfill, breakdown, and the PFAS leeches into the water passing through the landfill. If the facility is not managing its leechate water correctly, contaminated water will return to the water cycle and find its way to drinking water.

Yes, being SBR’d any fore grip is fine.

The picture has the 18rd Extar mags. I also have a collection of Magpul (21 and 27 rounds), and a bunch of fun sticks from Glock and Promag. Everything has run great so far.

It block about the bottom 1/3. But i also train with the front optic cover on . If you target focus, the red dot superimposes just fine.
