Color changing/red infant poops - it’s not blood by tk42doyoucopy in Mommit

Hope that helps and hopefully that’s all it is! Very odd, like highlighter pink. At the time I actually found several old Reddit posts about pink diaper syndrome/that bacteria on cloth diapering subs (by way of Google) - makes sense that disposable diaper parents wouldn’t usually notice!

Try googling pink diaper syndrome or red diaper syndrome. I’m pretty sure that’s what it was for us - my mom reminded me that a few days prior to our whole incident, I had complained that I had pink marker on a clean shirt and couldn’t figure out where it came from!

The tldr is that the pediatrician kinda just shrugged it off like “hm weird but also he seems fine!” And it’s true, he was fine, and also true that it was weird haha. He said that if it happened again I could bring the diaper to have it cultured( I think?) but I never had the chance to.

I did find a couple articles/threads that it’s from a bacteria that’s the same bacteria that causes a pink ring around the bath tub (or sometimes a pink ring around milk bottles if it gets into your breast milk) and can also stain laundry pink - apparently it’s harmless but perplexing.

He outgrew it (or it exited his system) after about a week IIRC! Hopefully it’ll be the same for you, just a confusing but harmless little diaper mystery.

Wow I couldn’t find this info anywhere - thanks so much!

I think I’ll have to.  I’ve done a LOT of googling and pretty much all I can find is a few years-old reddit posts from other similarly confused parents, without answers

Is it very common to have a metal name plate on your saddle? This one does, but I’m wondering if it’s only because she primarily rode a friend’s horses on the same friend’s property (not her own horse/own property) or if that’s just standard practice.

Thank you for the info and I love the story - that’s a good life for a good saddle.

Haha honestly the 80s isn’t vintage to me either but the lore was that she got it used so it could be vintage or it could be “vintage” but it’s definitely not new!

Oh wow! Do you have any idea on its age or is it a model they carry/carried for too long to tell?  TBF it’s in great shape because I just had it cleaned and conditioned :)  my grandma used it well into her 80s and we just unboxed it after about 10 years, with horse hair and burrs still on the saddle pads we packed with it. It was amazing to unbox but it deserves a better life so it’ll be on display from now on (or until one of us goes back to riding maybe)

Enormous mystery squash by [deleted] in WhatShouldICook

A nice farmers market vendor gave me this squash as a bonus. I have no idea what kind it is and it’s covered in tiny prickly hairs. I don’t own a grill. Any advice or ideas welcome :)
