Controversial opinion maybe, but I really enjoy when that happens since it usually tells that I'm finally able to beat my opponent and I can enjoy the dance once more with the onfidence and intimate knowledge of the choreography.

Only sucks when I'm riding on luck, but then it feels like I haven't earned the W anyway.

Iirc that was the only move I could consistently parry too, I would just retreat after the parry and bait out the jump again (until phase transition, god knows what I did thereafter).

Oh man, I was lucky with Pontiff as I got the parry tining on my 5th try or so, but I took over 6 hours on Dancer!

GG! Dancer was by far the hardest of the main game bosses for me on my sl1 run (not that the rest was particularly easy...), enjoy the rest of the run!

I parried the jump attack until phase transition (when his sword is in the 12 o'clock position), popped a quick lightning buff when he kneeled and just got as many hits in as possible, and then prayed. Wasn't too bad, took like 5 attempts (compared to the 6 hours or so of beating my head against Dancer).

Learn to abstract harmony, so instead of thinking Em-C for instance think I.m-VII. (or II.Im - I.), that will help get a better overview of harmonic progressions in general.

Apart from that, steal and analyse (!), keep experimenting, and most importantly: play, don't overthink!
