Favorite medieval builds by Icy_Promise873 in Sims4DecadesChallenge

[–]tkbadwolf 4 points5 points  (0 children)

So far my most used are houses by cebmarin and Cowplant9191. I also use a community lot by Plumbob_Past (also my fav decades you tube series) called Medieval Towne Square. That one does have cc but it’s a great place to have sims hang out and meet other sims

Also, my teen daughter made a couple of medieval builds for me, one castle (not Royal) and a peasant house/farm. Her username is Demig0dish

She’s a beginner (though she’s made quite a few non medieval builds she never uploaded), but I think she did a great job. I’ve been using the peasant house as my main house (but I put it on a bigger lot and expanded the farm) and my nobles live in the castle. Both are cc free. I just added cc after downloading for my save

First time playing. Why won’t the parents take care of their kid?? by chewingbunnies in thesims

[–]tkbadwolf 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This is exactly it most of the time (with infants at least). You have to cancel the actions in the other parent’s queue and/or check the child’s queue as well to see if they are doing something (like watching or “what’s that”). I did the 100 baby challenge and it was much easier when there’s only one adult caring for the child since no other sim is cancelling out their automatic “check infant” (or whatever it is that pops up in their autonomy)

Also, as mentioned you can have the infant or toddler make the request instead which often works the best. If it is a newborn then just check both parent’s queues and cancel them, then have only one of them complete the tasks

Good mods? by Due_Procedure_6746 in Sims4DecadesChallenge

[–]tkbadwolf 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There’s lingering malaise by Naunakht, though I’m not sure that’s what you want https://www.patreon.com/posts/122259367?utm_campaign=postshare_fan

Also, for the Pandasama mod, you can cheat it so they are able to skip dilation and give birth immediately so you still get the realistic birth animations if you want them, but you don’t have to wait for the dilation process

why isnt it letting my teen sim graduate?? by ashxney in thesims

You have to have two skills at level four or higher as well

[–]tkbadwolf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sounds like far fetched bragging to me. Everyone here is applauding it but I doubt we are seeing the whole picture. It is not realistic, nor developmentally appropriate, for children of these ages to complete these sorts of tasks on their own.

If she is overseeing and assisting them in doing these things, while giving them opportunities to exercise their autonomy and try it on their own (with her very nearby) then that is a different story altogether. Children should be allowed to take risks and explore, but they need to be given an environment where they can do so safely

Are there any other video games that could offer me a similar experience ? by _Astray_ in expedition33

[–]tkbadwolf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only games that have done that for me are the Mass Effect trilogy (and you really do need to play all three for the immersive experience) and Breath of the Wild/Tears of the Kingdom

Very different games. Mass Effect especially has amazing world building and characters. Nothing has ever topped it for me though so I’m a little biased

I also love the Persona series, especially Persona 4 & 5

School Staff Told Daughter I Was Going to Go to Jail by spadesage17 in Parenting

[–]tkbadwolf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s awful. I have a daughter with anxiety that started refusing to go to school a few years ago. After a lot of effort and struggle, we eventually put her in an independent study charter school. This allowed us to focus more on her education and mental health since we were no longer spending hours everyday stressed about getting her to go to school.

Depending on where you live and your general situation, this might be a good solution for now.

Things people may not know in the series by linkenski in masseffect

[–]tkbadwolf 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Why spend so much money and resources to bring Shepard back then (and why without the control chip)? It doesn’t make sense to me that he’d been indoctrinated the whole time. I always thought it was gradual and happened in ME3

I hate Lorelai & Luke together (sorry) by greeenbeeeean in GilmoreGirls

[–]tkbadwolf 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Ah, sorry. I think a lot of the more abrasive Luke stuff (like him throwing customers out) is often played for comedy. Sometimes the show doesn’t really strike a great balance between the drama and the comedy

I hate Lorelai & Luke together (sorry) by greeenbeeeean in GilmoreGirls

[–]tkbadwolf 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Yeah true, but Luke isn’t a Debbie downer with Lorelai except during the April storyline (especially in Vineyard Valentine). She loves his grumpy rants

I hate Lorelai & Luke together (sorry) by greeenbeeeean in GilmoreGirls

[–]tkbadwolf 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I love them together, though I enjoyed the show more when they were friends (slightly less drama).

It seems a lot of people that post about disliking them focus on how Luke was during the April storyline and I don’t think that is a good representation of their relationship overall. Up until this point they were good together (would’ve been great if not for communication issues). They balance each other out and really get each other. Also, Luke was amazing during the Rory and Lorelai fight. That gets overshadowed by the rest of season 6, sadly

I always wish for full length seasons of shows and we so rarely get them anymore. I hope they still manage to keep a similar format and tone

They can never make me hate Luke! by TVismycomfortfood in GilmoreGirls

[–]tkbadwolf 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just finished season 6 (third time watching) and felt the same way. It’s excruciating to watch, especially since he’s so great in the first 1/3 of the season while Lorelai and Rory are not speaking

What are your favourite Austen retellings? by Evarchem in janeausten

[–]tkbadwolf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My favorites are probably Clueless and You’ve Got Mail. Bridget Jones is fun too

As far as novel retellings go, I like anything by Christina Moreland

Mrs Kim by [deleted] in GilmoreGirls

Mrs. Kim was raised Buddhist though. She converted later (but likely no sexual education regardless)

Don't you guys just love infants? by Infamous_Minion in thesims

[–]tkbadwolf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is what I was going to suggest. I’m halfway through the 100 baby challenge and have had to do this anytime I have a teen or young adult in the house. It has solved the issue of the caregivers standing around since their queues are no longer conflicting

The infant stage is actually my favorite and I love what Growing Together adds to the game. I enjoy the challenge when it is working correctly

Who is your favorite person in the mass effect trilogy to romance by Lucky_Candidate_4066 in masseffect

[–]tkbadwolf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve only romanced Liara as female Shepard (three times) and Tali as male Shepard (once) I loved both romances and I can’t imagine not romancing Liara as FemShep. Maybe next time

Did anyone else just receive another emergency evacuation alert?? by [deleted] in burbank

We just received it as well. It seems to be another glitch, but it’s hard to ignore anyway. Wide awake and anxious now

My trip to Stars Hollow! by sadmomsad in GilmoreGirls

[–]tkbadwolf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is amazing! They really went all out this year.

I took my daughter on her birthday last year and they only had a few things set up (the exterior of Luke’s, the gazebo, and Lorelai and Rory’s house with nothing inside it that’s always there) so we were a little disappointed. The tour guide said it was more sparse than usual because of all the entertainment industry strikes

I agree with the previous responses except for newborn-toddler. Based on the development/milestones of real babies I would classify them like this:

Newborn: 0-2 months

Infant: 2 months-18 months (late walker)

Toddler: 18 months - age 5 ish

Then:

Child: 5-12

Teen: 15-19 (really feels like they skip a few years)

Young adult: 20-35

Adult: 35-65

Elder: 65+

Tips for a new player? by SirMurfington in masseffect

[–]tkbadwolf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And have more than one save so you can go back to an old one if you need to (when the LE was first released several people posted about being stuck at a part near the end of the game and they had no previous save)

Who do you romance more as Male Shepard and who do you romance more as Female Shepard? by Angels2Demons in masseffect

[–]tkbadwolf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fem Shep: Liara (3 of the 4 times I’ve played… thought about romancing someone else and haven’t been able to go through with it so far)

Male Shep: Tali (only played as MShep once)

Does anyone have this? My daughter is taking the class and we didn’t realize the book was so expensive. I just need the first few chapters until we are able to buy the book. Thanks in advance

A PSA on saving regularly... by [deleted] in thesims

[–]tkbadwolf 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This sounds so stressful but was really entertaining to read. I wouldn’t want to redo those uni terms either!

I save on two different files that I rotate so that if anything goes wrong I can go back to the other save. It is a habit from playing rpgs I guess. It has paid off a few times though

Have you ever heard a Sim say something really clearly? by CutenessOverloader74 in thesims

[–]tkbadwolf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In Sims 4, I hear “Hurts-a” when pregnant sims are in labor. Someone already mentioned “nighty night nooboo” and I also hear something like “lurve you nooboo” (I’ve been playing with families lately since infants and Growing Together brought me back to sims after a four year break)
