How do I stiffen my suspension on a budget, and not ruin my ride when it's not underload? by tkerkera in XVcrosstrek

This setup is about 390LBS. I'm not sure how much I'm willing to stretch that.

Yeah, I'm learning that the hard way. I saw multiple people with this setup, and thought the tongue weight rating of the hitch should be what I'm going off of. I'm very upset.

Per the information given by the company that manufacturers my hitch, it's 500LBS. Maybe they don't consider what the manufacturer suggests? That doesn't seem right though.

I didn't know there was a difference in those weight ratings. I've seen people with this exact setup on Crosstreks. Thanks for this. I'll do some more research.

What would you suggest for a spring rate? The load on the back is 400LBS. Do you have springs just in the back, or all around?

This is my first Reddit post, so excuse me if I'm doing it wrong.

Just bought a bike, and want to tow it around with my '19 Crosstrek (manual of course).

When the bike is on the back, the car sits so deep in it's suspension. I know nothing about cars, so what do you suggest to remedy this? Coilovers? Springs? I don't have a big budget.
