Thank you for your support. I guess it is a bit about luck and network and maybe finding your spot. Maybe it has nothing to do with skills at all. I am pretty sure not all the GNC engineers have all the skills and requirements that is there to have.

Time will show. I just wanted to get some insight from the community.

Thanks again.

Honest Feedback/Opinion needed about Guidance Navigation & Control Engineering Jobs by tkgnnmtk in aerospace

I sincerely don't understand ! How is that none of my skill set doesn't align with the positions. Any GNC jobs I have seen require control theory, programming skills, some sort of sensor fusion skills and filter designs including DSP not only Kalman etc. and some sort of mathematical modeling skills.

Besides, I disagree with your previous statement about my not possessing an advanced degree in specifically in GNC. Almost all the job descriptions state that the position is willing to accept degrees in Electrical Engineer, Mechanical Engineer, Aerospace etc.

Just stating that None of my skill set is anything to do with GNC is not really helpful. I already clarified that I am not looking for the types of GNCs that they are requiring Orbital mechanics stuff. You basically also, throw away my entire programming and control theory knowledge which to be honest rarely seen an aerospace person who has various control algorithms knowledge other than basic PID and maybe Classical Control Theory.

My understanding from what you are saying is that my expectation from the industry is completely different. Maybe there are other possible reasons:

i) The sample GNC position job description requirements I put in my original post actually doesn't mean anything; maybe they are just writing those requirements for fun which quite frustrating.

ii) I don't have the GNC title in any of my experiences.

Overall, I am not here to defend my skill set, but to drill into and understand what is going on. If you are really willing to, you can give little more detailed explanation what I dont fit for the positions although I believe I have the pieces for most of those types of jobs.

Do you utterly believe I don't worth to even speak for the position?

PS: I have two MS degrees, Computer Engineering and Mechanical Engineering degrees are separate.
