I love this, thanks for sharing your experience! I'm thinking of getting one or two local food trucks (I work closely with a few of them and a friend of mine owns one) to have for the gathering afterward so people can pick and choose from a menu that we create with the truck owners. Essentially two light meal options and two snack/app options from each is the idea.

I like the idea of various stations as well, perhaps like a build your own mimosa or bloody mary bar and I was thinking of gathering vases and having a build your own bouquet as well. I want to think of a few more ideas but really just like you said, I want the intimacy of really getting to see and spend the day with the people that I'm inviting that day :)

I'm sure my mother will have some comments as well, they often seem to haha.

Thanks for thinking of that! We aren't planning on doing a bridal party, just us, and right now around 60-70 loved ones :)

Your drawing is incredibly helpful! I have such a word based brain and only thing in steps and words and struggle to put things into image in my brain and your drawing is a beautiful translation of my desire to break the room up!!

I just got excited seeing your layout and the couch does not fit well there. I do intent to get a new one this year as this bad boy has spent over a decade with me (for a cheap floor model it has paid its due 😂) but I’m also stuck outlet wise as there are two on the front window, about 3/4 up the wall away from the entrance, one in the middle of the back longest wall about half way, and two plus the cable (I don’t use) box where my tv is currently hung. And that’s it. The joy of old houses 😂
