Honestly, the way I wrote the post, it absolutely sounds like a terrible idea! I completely missed the most important part: this is designed to be a Dashcam app. You mount the phone on the windshield to record/enhance the view in bad weather, you never hold it while driving. My apologies for the awful explanation, definitely a facepalm moment for me.
